Pure Summer Vibes! “Apple of My Eye” by Jesse Whitney

Here is a friend of mine whom i met on Zoom (what a sad world that is), who then told me he was doing music while we talked about lizards, UFOs, conspiracies and Wikileaks and stuff…
Well send it he did! He made a super, uber-sweet beach, reggae, folky songwriter tune and it’s *****ing mindblowingly lovely! Play it at all summer, play at your garden party, play it in your barnhouse, play it on your balcony with your loved one! A proper 100% YUM YUM top tune, for the late night hours on the beach… Really wants me make a new Mixtape!
Proper music, not just some soundbytes to torture your brains memory center (actually lol’ed while writing this). Jesse is straight out of Melbourne, and spent some time in Berlin, where the hook-up happened, and although i am officially on team Sidney, simply bc my good friend Mat McHugh is from there, i should be biased (i am) but this tune is some sweet, sweet summer wine. Tiny Dolphin – Try

We had the pleasure to introduce you to Alex Fisher’s work before.

Tiny Dolphin is the solo project of Alex Fisher, an American multi-instrumentalist indie folk and pop artist based in Austin, Texas.

Alex cites a diverse range of musical influences ranging from classical and contemporary pianists to American folk and British rock artists. He attributes his eclectic taste to his experiences living in Houston, Montreal, Munich and London. His first EP “The Sailor’s Wife”, which came out under his given name was well received by major indie blogs and playlisters.

With Tiny Dolphin, Alex hopes to create an indie rock project that draws from his varied musical influences and instigates collaboration with other artists. He wants to make people either dance or cry (ideally both at the same time).

Try is about someone I know, and how I perceived their life at the time. I spent a lot of time trying to imagine what it would be like to be in their state of mind, and I suppose that’s why I ultimately felt the urge to write about it.

With a production-style so rarely heard these days, it immediately reminds you of an early The Shins, Radiohead or The National.

A compilation of demos, works in progress, drafts, old cell phone recordings, and throw-away-tracks that have been resurrected form long lost hard drives, dusted off, and given a fresh spin. This little journey is compiled of ideas from the past 5 years, from my very first productions and rehearsal room recordings (Life-Lines, WaitingForMyMan) to brand new compositions (Longing, F O U R a m).

Putting out this mixtape is quite a vulnerable feeling, as these songs are much more so drafts than finished products, but that is actually what is so great about it. The rawness, the diversity, just allowing them to be as they are and releasing them. Enjoy this ride through my musical brain!

Door #22 – Sun Cream Playlist by Dunjah Sabreen

Door #22 – holds a phenomenal playlist that didn’t go online yesterday (caught up in your average human Christmas pre-drama). But here is another favourite of ours, Dunjahs 2nd playlist that is fully loaded with lost gems and hidden treasures, and that whenever it gets played has people asking for the ‘what is that music’. Which is rare these days considering how over saturated and all around available the constant stream of music has become, and how much magic it has lost. Anyways, here is a return to the magic of music, if you like to listen closely and pay attention to the finesse and grace that songs can have… You probably know some of the tunes, and although i despise the term diversity due to the online SJW nonsense, this playlist is truly diverse – but has one thing in common – every song is pure sweet, tasteful goodness and has a loving undertone. Truly enjoy this one;)
