recap of last weeks YUM YUM munich @ Piratenhöhle

We had a blast! We threw a night at the former P1, which is right now just an old abandoned place, and we turned it into something nice. We persuaded the owners to lower the prices to match those of Erste Liga, cafe King etc – so you can imagine what their average rates are (gulp) and the venue can easily fit as many people in as old Registratur, so we figured that would suit us well. But boy were we wrong! WAY MORE people turned up than anyone could have expected. The door was overrun – and nobody could have foreseen such a queue. I mean from the entrance of the club across half the parking area. I mean hundreds and hundreds of folks. To be honest i do not know a single location/ club that could fit all those peoples – except a massive concert hall or something. It was freezing cold and the people got upset about being left out in the cold for so long – AND WE ARE TRULY SORRY FOR THAT AND ALL THE PEOPLE THAT DIDNT GET IN – but no way could the bouncers and doormen and women have handled that crowd any faster. Next time we throw another unexpected YUM YUM in an Off Location – we will guaranteed have at least 2 entrances. OTHER THAN THAT – we, i mean all the YUM YUM massive n all the folks hopping around, had a serious blast. Thee Mike B. from L.A. (ps check his blog) came down while step-visiting Europe (or as he calls it “HERR Ze Europa – izza Poltergeist”) and he played on the Top Friend Floor. Max and me were holding it down on the YUM YUM side of things and to be honest we were even holding the dj booth and table tight- cause that improvised stand was shaky as hell and was held together by duct tape!! LOL. But all good – the P.A. was effing up at times, but hey it was a spontaneous party and we loved it. It was a pirates offering and we arrr happy for this massive dance to have happended on such short notice. thanks for making it mine…

ps YUM YUM plays all kinds of music, an eclectic mix of everything we love – the YUM YUM massive knows this. Nuff said!

Chromemusic presents Mayer Hawthorne – short recap w pics

It worked out fine just the way we figured. A nice show by one of the most promising new acts in a small cib to have a REAL live venue – you could literally pass your drinks to the band and to quote Mayer: “What a strange arrangement”, but the guys loved it, due to the sticky icky, the girls who took such wonderful care of them and of course the live, live audience that showed up on this holiday and amde it a night to remember. The thank-yous & praises were flooding facbook the day after. Here are some of the few pics that we have received and nice re-edit of “Maybe so, Maybe no” by our buddy King Most that skillfully incorporates Kanye West Vocals into the Mix. Click play and check out the pics.

dani o. Short recap of Top Friend Party Munich, November 12th @ Erste Liga

Who the F*** is Steve Aoki? I’m quite sure that 90% of the estimated 2000 people who went to see him play at the opening of the P1 club didn’t know that at all! But when Munichs poshest club calls, they are coming. Honestly – we felt that! Munich is a small city. Nevertheless STEVIE MAC and RAPH played awesome music and those who were there enjoyed it. By the way it was RAPHs Top Friend @ Liga debut… Though late, in the end those who were not willing to sweat at Prinzregentenstreet came to party with us and it was a good night! Thnx 2 all!

Recap of last YUM YUM 120 minute party @ Stroke

Why only 120 min ???- well thats a REALLY goooood story. We had an official permit to have a party, a finissage with djs and all at Stroke Urban art fair Vol 1. So far, so good. And from Sunday on there is some senseless christian holiday – where it is prohibited to DANCE!!! Ok, if you are not from around here – this seems kinda weird, but bavarians got used to this kind of nonsense. Anyway we still had a permit!!! and police told us they were gonna close it down if the music was louder than at your grannys house – past midnight. Well – the option was to either close it down with the rightful permit in hand or try to make the best out of it. AND WE DID. The party was set from 10pm to midnight sharp, and we had some digital watches with a 120 min countdown running. YOU COULDNT STOP PEOPLE FROM PARTYING. The closer it got to midnight the louder & madder the crowd went. Still waiting for some pics from the last half hour. This party was WILD!!!

we stopped at exactly 12.00 midnight – with the entire crowd chanting – it felt like Anfield Road

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR COMING DOWN AND FOR PARTYYYYING YOUR ASSES OFF!!!!!

ps screw christian holidays – matter of fact screw all religion – and a big eff you to the police state

short recap of last YUM YUM Munich, Saturday 10th – things good and bad

First let me say this: WE have NOT MOVED to Kongresshalle. We are just having two dates at that spot, since Registratur is throwing their KONGRESS nights there – but only every now and then – GET IT?

The last Saturday was a nice dance and loads of people turned up as you can see from the pictures, but i am and always will be straight forward when it comes to saying how i/we feel about certain things.

A lotta things were in no way YUM YUM. let me list them down: a.) the lights were too “big room disco” for us. b.) no second room/ top friend area – for a solid 10€ is not fair. c.) it was too nice – big room fix again. d.) we dj’s were playing down “on” the people – from some throne-like stand. Again, not cool, not YUM YUM like and certainly something for big-headed superstars. e.) One of the most important things – we started to late. The band started way too late which pushed everything backwards. I know you hiked to the spot just to be kept waiting and take away from our playtime – which our people payed for – not fair again! Which ended in the dj’s being pissed of, having to pick up from where the live show left em. Which resulted in similar sets, since everyone was going for the sureshots.

We will do a second date @ Kongress – BUT – ONLY if these things are FIXED. We have discussed these matters with Registratur already.

I know often at times i am too critical of everything, including myself, but thats the way it is – and there’s no progress if you only point out the good things. It was an amazing dance – An incredible mass of people turned up – one week after the Oktoberfest – and one day after Boyz Noize – and they had a BALL!! The location is real nice, IF its done nice.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING IT HAPPEN – SEE YOU BACK SOON ON OCTOBER 31ST @ STROKE.

Patti Jo –  Ain_t No Love Lost

Short recap of Top Friend Party Munich, October 8th @ Erste Liga

Who ever thought that it could change that way…? Before four it was honestly pretty lame! Munich was empty, the crowd seemed tired and the atmosphere was strange –  Oktoberfest ended only some days before. Everyone felt – the end is near. But then… BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM! From 4 a.m. standing turned into bouncing, the vibes were good, music was party and bodies were shaken. And I mean shaken! Special thanks to SCHOWI the man who came all the way down from Berlin to make us dance and yeah! He made us dance! Alors, on danse encore ORI! Quite a surprise when Max Herre and his Crew showed up and enjoyed the sound with us even when the lights were turned on… Ok! Now we know that we can do it… Maybe little earlier next time.
