Gang Starr – Mash Appeal by Freqnik & WDre (hiphop jazz mix ft fishbelly black)

ok its just a diy acapella on top of some jazzed up beat, with a simple drumloop, but nonetheless this works. its a classic and even trying to pretend that it has anything on this huge huge classic tune would be wrong, but seriously the original is one of the tunes that was like a hiphop Mantra in the nineties and just seeing someone give it a different spin is welcome by me. Watch how the horns build up and interact more and more towards the end, in contrast to the quite monotoneous intro. By the end of the tune you ll be swinging. Reminds me of Premiers classic work with Branford Marsalis.

Roxy Music – Love Is the Drug (prince klassen edit)

Listen to this great edit of Roxy Musics classic song ‘Love Is The Drug’, released within their fifth album ‘Siren’ in 1975. Also notice the Greg Wilson edit that have been posted on our blog last year.

Chamberlin – Cabin Covers EP

Nothing to say about this one, but “i bought it the minute i heard it”. Its effing brilliant. Number 3 is my favourite tune of the month or so. Just asked Schowi who i was on the road with for 3 days. I had this tune on loop, as a matter of fact i am just listening to it right now. Chamberlins version of “Go outside” by the Cults must be carved into his frontal cortex. At least one song from this awesome EP will be mixed on the next Sweet Serenade Mixtape. best forex brokers in nigeria

Download full album: “Jay-Z @ Studio One” mashed up by Soulforce

This albums a free download by the Soulforce crew that dates back to 2007 and it is exactly what the title implies – Jay-zs vocals meet Studio One, but these guys just recently put it online and someone (possibly them?) sent me a message to post it. So, i know a few of our guys like them a good reggae set and some jay-z, no matter how over-remixed (is that a word?) that album is/was. A couple of good versions on here some well known, a bit dated but ÜBERclassic reggae riddims. Here is my favourite one, but i wished the remixes were a bit more vivid and had more breaks or the producer had put more effort on arranging them instead of pure blending. This album was just remixed too often for my ears. Other than that the albums good to go. Anways, forget my opinion: here you go, grab the full download over here.
