Big up Xaphoon for sending this through and apologies bro for forgetting to post this over and over again. Its the mixtape offering from his band Chiddy Bang which received enough praises from me and all the djs involved in YUM YUM.

@Xaphoon whenever you got new stuff send it through and check Stromae (maybe for remixing him)- i’ll hook you up with acapellas and all. He is like the french sensation everyone plays this side of the sea. I think you guys dig it.

last YUM YUM Berlin in 2009 this Saturday ∆ Picknick

By chrome December 10, 2009

This is it folks the place to be this Saturday if you are anywhere near and in Berlin – and if you dont know this spot – don’t bother. Here are some tunes and edits that fit the YUM YUM sound in Berlin, hand selected by my man Schowi. The Flyers simply nice. Its the YUM YUM Berlin 1 year anniversary, cause thats about the time when we officially landed, even though we have been around – but with a city like Berlin – you need to time and play it all right and if not well you are mediocre or less in a matter of days – thats why this is another fine selected setup. Really looking forward to this joint.

Ps the lineup is like a who is who of the people who define the city these days. incl main lady Palina Power, One of the Sick Girls, Bianca Checker and so on – these ladies know to throw a proper party and are pure eye candy besides being (street)smart. Simply peoples i like having dinner with. just lovely – RSVP to the party on Facebook

Bass Ill Euro “Good Beat” Remix

By chrome December 10, 2009

A new Remix by our peoples & YUM YUM colleagues Bass Ill Euro (Schowi & Passion). Nice and much appreciated remix of a tune by Sampo (no the other Sampo) which came out officially some time ago and that i was playing up and down anyhow. Love the ravey breakdown. Punchy drums as always – thats some feel good summer vibe for the 4/4 floors.

Truly a good beat – dwnld and play out loud in your sets. This is gonna be an official release

new Alicia Keys “Empire state of mind pt2”

By chrome December 10, 2009

this track is taken from her new album – and you get what you expect, i like Alicia Keys – just wished she would go sing and play the keys on some more 36 chambers Wu-tang sounding beats and i would eat it up – she would probably start a new (nothings new really) trend.this tune is like those 90ies tunes that said “w/o rap version” in brackets. Somebody pls make a drum n bass version out of it packed with Rakim & Nas samples and some chopped up Primo beats/samples from 94

half the people around me are up on it, so here you have it. i mentioned it her new album – go get and so on.. and nice tune by the way.

recap of last weeks YUM YUM munich @ Piratenhöhle

By chrome December 10, 2009

We had a blast! We threw a night at the former P1, which is right now just an old abandoned place, and we turned it into something nice. We persuaded the owners to lower the prices to match those of Erste Liga, cafe King etc – so you can imagine what their average rates are (gulp) and the venue can easily fit as many people in as old Registratur, so we figured that would suit us well. But boy were we wrong! WAY MORE people turned up than anyone could have expected. The door was overrun – and nobody could have foreseen such a queue. I mean from the entrance of the club across half the parking area. I mean hundreds and hundreds of folks. To be honest i do not know a single location/ club that could fit all those peoples – except a massive concert hall or something. It was freezing cold and the people got upset about being left out in the cold for so long – AND WE ARE TRULY SORRY FOR THAT AND ALL THE PEOPLE THAT DIDNT GET IN – but no way could the bouncers and doormen and women have handled that crowd any faster. Next time we throw another unexpected YUM YUM in an Off Location – we will guaranteed have at least 2 entrances. OTHER THAN THAT – we, i mean all the YUM YUM massive n all the folks hopping around, had a serious blast. Thee Mike B. from L.A. (ps check his blog) came down while step-visiting Europe (or as he calls it “HERR Ze Europa – izza Poltergeist”) and he played on the Top Friend Floor. Max and me were holding it down on the YUM YUM side of things and to be honest we were even holding the dj booth and table tight- cause that improvised stand was shaky as hell and was held together by duct tape!! LOL. But all good – the P.A. was effing up at times, but hey it was a spontaneous party and we loved it. It was a pirates offering and we arrr happy for this massive dance to have happended on such short notice. thanks for making it mine…

ps YUM YUM plays all kinds of music, an eclectic mix of everything we love – the YUM YUM massive knows this. Nuff said!

here are some pics

next YUM YUM in munich will be on New Years Eve
