When You Fall In Love (Mastered Version) by BoganVia

This tune really sticks with you, long after you stopped playing it. Always the strongest indicator for a strong tune. This one has all the clichés & trademarks of a 80’s synth pop anthem, and it is really that strong imho to be, although fictitious, an 80’s classic. It uses the obvious sounds and techniques flawlessly w/o ever compromising with todays state of the art sounds, mixing methods and that is normally an absolute No Go in my book, bc even if you take a retro or genre based anti stance, you have to adjust to the fact that listening habits changed, devices changed, the mixing of sounds, the effect settings have gone through a major change, and consumption in total has become fundamentally different, as the general attention span decreases by the months. This tune by BoganVia ignores all the above completely, and actually defies my thesis, but surprisingly works better than most other songs (99% i come across), and it transports fun above all else, w/o ever having to make a fool of itself. Ahoy BoganVia, may your star burn bright and long!

Alexandra Fresquez- Deep End

Outstanding and heavy pop anthem by a lady i never heard of before, but telling from her 1st release she could be among the pop elite. Absolutely nails the Zeitgeist, more commercially and pop music oriented but we deal in quality, and not in genres. This here is top shelf and i guess this is one of those long tail tunes, that builds up steam over time and then goes on to conquer it all, or latest with the follow up releases.

Heartless – Fire & Ice by Heartless

By now i am so super tired and almost feel SJW like insulted personally by pitched chopped voices and that whole style, but then again every now and then along comes a tune, in this case, a regular pop tune, that simplifies it back to normal again, and makes it likeable on a pure musical level. Welcome Heartless.

Darci – Seeing Colors

Not much to say here, but give it a listen and go from “unimpressed” to totally “captured” by this tune. Darci’s first offering, at least that i noticed w/o doing any research, left a great impression on me. He must have previous releases with 7k SC followers, but everything is a stream/ is a blur these days and nobody got time for that. And “Seeing Colours” manages to go from slightly weird to super modern state of the art zeitgeist pop. And it happens naturally, almost like a sonic remedy. Well done sir! Now we know your name.

Spark (Ft. Dasha Akelin) by The Golden Pony

Another big choon, The Golden Pony delivers one after the other, these guys are gonna be huge soon, but it’s built on consistency instead of just a hype that fades out. What i always liked about them is that they don’t shy away from taking on any kind of sound or any style. Meaning there are always tons of diverse people that can go for it, perfect for the eclectic but still dance oriented floor. Many floors these days are just like Zombies waiting for that drop to spaz out. TGP was never like that, even if they take a popular formula like this and last years, house chords meets chopped vocals, or use a drop they still dodge the cheesy bullet by inserting their own kind of magic, and it’s great for the real big rooms as well as the petite little dj stints. So in my book they are on the best way to becoming a proper dance taste maker. And once they have reached that international recognition, they will not only be huge, but everybody’s gonna be like “how did that happen?” – and it’s gonna be the same answer as always “through consistency and hard work!”  Welcome.
