While you’re sitting in front of your computer, making an edit of any song, there is always the question – is it worth it. I asked myself that question first. But i realized very quickly while i played the edit live for the first time, that it is worth to re-arrange, add some drums, put a baseline onto and mix it with some hip hop lyrics cause the original song is simply to lame to play at clubs nowadays. After hearing that new Jurassic 5 tune, this suddenly popped into my mind. I should update it a bit. After hearing it today, i remembered how much i actually liked this song.
Gwen & Pharrel were the bomb. And that whole White Stripes sound and their unique sound aesthetics put that whole thing on another level. Not bigging up my work. It’s almost non-existent, but both songs comliment each other very well and that’s what a good mix is about.
