Destiny’s Child gets the Trap treatment, plus we used a little sample of SBTRKT’s infamous Wildfire. Almost a mashup but not really since its a proper production. Had some assist from Marki and Schowi and thats a good thing. Enjoy this one, goes down a storm on the floor and make sure to play it out loud, since we are all caught in the trap right now

Flo, from Blumentopf, good friend and yum yum original, approached me not too long ago to remix their latest release. so i did a remix for them, which i liked, but too make it even more playable – especially at yum yum, i had to lace it with a different beat. just like we did in the old days – and called it blends. have fun with this one. blumentopf – good friends of mine on one of my top 5 favourite hip hop beats: talib & kanyes “gety by” a classic tune, among the last and most outstanding releases in a long line of Rawkus Rec classics, heavy infused by the godlike keys of nina simones anachronistic afrofunkyness.
It has been 20 years since the original came out and a remix of the classic of all classic hip hop tunes, that started the whole golden era thing, is waaaay overdue. This ones a gift to all the yum yum people – living their life like its golden and a little special tune for tonights YUM YUM Parties in Munich, NRW & Stuttgart. Here is a rare tune that i came across when dusting off my records – had to remix it. The Fugees in their prime made this tune with Tribe & Busta for the OST of “When we were Kings”. An amazing movie about Muhammed Alis Rumble in the Jungle fight vs George Forman that took place in Zaire in 1974. A tune everybody forgot about, the verses are excellent as a posse cut should be, but i guess they recorded everybody with a different mic, so the vocals all sound different – and i would have taken Lauryns amazing hook too [Send me an Angel] if it would have been included on the Acapella. Too bad, but we laced it with a new beat and new melody and Mama-friendly hook with the vocals of Reggae Legend Johnny Osbourne who covered the Delfonics “Ready or Not” tune in 1972, same as the Fugees did 23 years later. Johnny Osbourne, Muhammed Ali, heroes of the 70ies meet the heroes of the 90ies Fugees, Tribe, Busta all in a mix from 2012.
