A new YUM YUM night coming our way, this Friday night. With the Oktoberfest over and the clubs running at a normal level again – i am really looking forward to this night. 4 weeks ago i was sick and had to leave early – and 2 weeks ago i was still not in good shape and recovering from this heavy knock-out. So now at least my spirits and all functions seem to have returned to green and i am focused on bringing you the the latest and newest YUM YUM sounds and versions this Friday night. Here are the latest YUM YUM Top Tune Selections and here is some more music. Do not forget to pick up our new Cds at Chicas, We, Double 8 and Play Records (the new YUM YUM Vol 6 and Vol.5 – the lost tape). Been out for a week and of course it is handed out as a give away. And if you are not gonna make it into one of these shops, there will be some more handed out this Friday night. Flo Keller will come down to play and surely bring his favourite gems. Will be a mighty fine TeamUp, so you know our steez.
“Gotta find a new World(YUM YUM edit)” – Check out our Edit of Al Greens classic, which incorporates the drums from Amy Winehouse favourite “I am no good” as produced by Mark Ronson. Also a little Wu-Tang (Method Man) vocal is dropped in the middle of the edit, primarily because this Al Green song gained popularity in the mid 90ies when it was sampled by the RZA and used as the sole sample source for Ghostface Killahâs âIron Maidenâ? track from his debut album. Ps. True story: I used to play this song, for years until the vinyl – Shaolin Soul vol 1- actually broke one night when i was out playing. Somebody dropped it on the floor and stood on it for quite some time. Then it took me 2 years to find another vinyl copy, and after i finally did i had to go for a 180gr pressing which is just not suitable for playing. Played it anyway and i think an edit/version of this song was long overdue. So here it is – make sure to play it out loud.
