The Shadow Years

The years and the phase of ChromeMusic and YUM YUM was left deserted and abondened by Chrome. No production. No Love. No One Around.
We had to break down the Matrix somewhere else.

Too Little (Too Late) by Fun While You Wait

This is a sweet little tune, with a lot of obvious and predictable lyrics, but seriously the singer is just sweet, and the horns kill it for m, with that retro swing, indie school band feel – super sweet. Don’t let me get into the lyrics, bc normally i really dislike the predictable and obvious stories i keep hearing from predictable people. But i stopped listen to lyrics some time ago, bc semantics can be infectious (read Terrence McKenna) and just pay attention to the “feel of songs”. This tune has a very lively one  – and what i really like this song for is the gypsy feel it gives me, that speaks to my gypsy soul. Thank you for the music. Pls follow via:

LAZER BLADES – Heartbreaker

This one goes so deep in the retro feel, that i wonder why there is not a goth in 8bit on the cover. A lot of elements that you will recognize from the early to mid 80’s synth bands and an instrumental that would make any video game or cyber warrior movie proud. Great!

Put It On ft. Jeuru, Janelle Kroll & Mr. Koifish by BLVK IRIS

You need to hold on to your sweaty undies and make sure everything is packed up tight down south. I’m serious, this is probably the hottest tune you will hear all month. There is so much electricity flying through the air in this hot duet, you will remember to bump this loud next time u netflix and chill, just to 1Up your game. Even the arty cover has a taste of antique frivolity that is playful and teasing but doesn’t give it away. Remember BLVK IRIS – the artist behind thissonic brazilian – and Retroglo (their publicist) who has an impeccable taste in soulful and sex laden gems, or so it seems, by the sheer amount of quality he keeps submitting to me. Appreciate it and to all the folks looking for a friendzone antidote – here we go… the spice WILL flow…

Deep End by ShelBee

I heard this tune the very first time a few weeks ago and instantly liked it, not only bc of it’s sparse use of instrumentation but mostly bc of Shel Bees phrasing, intonation and the way she delivers the top lines. A seriously good singer in the making, with an honest voice that needs more attention on the streaming world of today. That’s why i sent it off to our team to work and release the track. While i am currently on vacation i think the signing is on the way and we can look at pitching it properly when the summers over and all the streaming offices and bureaus are all back to business as usual. Won’t be earlier than mid to late September sadly, but no worries, a good solid tune takes longer to grow these days. And even longer for an artist to finally break into the mainstream. Consistency is key in releases, and if one or two do not work make sure to keep on keeping on. I am writing this well in mind that Shel Bee might read this, so i just want to encourage young striving acts to maintain the course and not get discouraged if things do not shape up instantly as one would wish. In the long run, they will.

There’s an old Chinese proverb that says : “If you wanna go fast, go alone. But if you wish to go far, go together.” And that’s how is see our relation with this young talent!

Ps i heard one of our most talented young cats, Wolfskind, will be working with you in October in LA. So we went full circle w/o knowing that this would happen, and that it would all stay in the family. Wolfskind aka Lucas is a key producer in our deal with Universal Music and sincerely my adopted son (musically), whom you will have lots of fun with ;)
