Sene – Holyday feat. Denita Odigie. After finally purchasing the full Sene Album i have to revise myself – this track is actually called Holyday not Spoiled Rotten Apples, as i wrote before and another blog as well (looking at you indieshuffle), mainly bc we both looked it up somewhere else. Still one of the strongest tunes right now. Love it
Sene has a new album out called “Brooklyknight” on Plug Research. Check out Senes Artist Page on PR for more videos and music. The whole album is really the essence of dope and this young buck is constantly putting out quality material. BK only raises the bar a bit and as good as the entire album is, this has to be my favourite track by far:
i have been off the radar for a minute, building our own venue, i mean proper handywork and figuring out the feel of things, not too much the style at first, but the soul is something that eminates from within in my humble opinion, so i was worrying about the feel of things and i think i pointed it into the right direction, and now the ship sets sail, which means i have a lot of catching up to do on my very own website and thats why this is gonna be a long, long post. there are tons of sounds & tunes around me, so let me sum up a few for you which havent yet made it up on our website.
Amsterdam Klezmer Band - Papa Chajes (Basement Freaks Remix)
nothing new if you are used to balkanstylee – just worth mentioning cause its got that bump
Eddie Kendricks - "Keep On Truckin' (Robin "T" Treier Mix)"
Robin, a good friend of the entire family and great mind when it comes to taste and style did his rework of this soul anthem, thats more like a oldies radio favourite these days. Robin gave it that essential spin. i like Eddie Kendricks – “Keep On Truckin’ (Robin “T” Treier Mix)” by Robin “T” Treier
Yasmin ft Shy FX & Ms Dynamite - 'Light Up (The World)'
There is not much to be said about Mount Kimbie, except that they are hailing from the Uk and that these 2 guys are beatmakers extraordinaire. And in case you missed their 2010 album “Crook & Lovers” (which won the cover of the year award in my book) make sure to get a copy of their 2011 Ep “Carbonated”. Lovely material
