Too Little (Too Late) by Fun While You Wait

This is a sweet little tune, with a lot of obvious and predictable lyrics, but seriously the singer is just sweet, and the horns kill it for m, with that retro swing, indie school band feel – super sweet. Don’t let me get into the lyrics, bc normally i really dislike the predictable and obvious stories i keep hearing from predictable people. But i stopped listen to lyrics some time ago, bc semantics can be infectious (read Terrence McKenna) and just pay attention to the “feel of songs”. This tune has a very lively one  – and what i really like this song for is the gypsy feel it gives me, that speaks to my gypsy soul. Thank you for the music. Pls follow via:

Skin Collection by Lara Antebi (Full Album)

Just hanging out on holiday and this sweet album came across. Lara dropped us a line, for her awesome track “Voodoo Doll” but i think her entire album deserves some attention. Voodoo Doll is my favorite after many a listens, but still her work needs to be listened and appreciated as a whole or holistically ;)

I think many can get with this, after everything these days is music, cut down, designed and portioned as fast food for easier and faster digestion. Lara makes honest and real music and that is something i came to appreciate a lot after even more things become, not only politically and in the media, an echo chamber, but even in music, which i think is even worse. So i salute this sweet artist and here sincere album. Welcome Lara Antebi ::: :::  :::  :::

Kate Grom – Whistle Cry

Just a heartfelt song by Kate Grom. Haven’t heard of her before, and never bothered googling her… um, i mean duckduckgo’ing her. But i added her on Spotify. This reminds me of many great songwriters and that country style makes it all the way sweeter even if it’s not a european flavor at all. Pretty much like the Dixie Chicks used to be when they were still good, good days… Thanks Kate for an honest country tune.

WAIT! by Common Deer

Lovely folk rock singer songwriter gem that these sweet folks at Common Deer composed and sent my way. Give it a spin, i’ll guess you’ll like it as much as i do. Kinda sounds like an everyday mantra, when you are working online “There is no time to waste”. What i especially like about it, is that it sounds honest and has a bit of an 80’s & 90’s feel to it, w/o ignoring todays zeitgeist. Maybe not musically but the songwriting sounds like a song from that era when everything was pretty clear and obvious, and there was no hiding and nothing to be ashamed of. They deliver a solid rock track and mean it – at least as far as i can tell. Welcome Common Deer, you guys made my day with this tune!

…So give me space and let me breathe…. “Love Song Idea” by Melis

giphy

Beauty in a nutshell is this song!

Not really into overly melodramatic songs these days, but at Love song Idea has sincere depth! Something that’s overly missing from the new pop music, which mostly has no-talent influencer hacks posing as artists. But to not spoil beauty with negativity, let’s get back to Melis, who was just *pitched to me a mere 10 min ago. Is it that good? Honestly i don’t know yet, but the first impression and Melis somewhat different sound, set her so much apart from the mainstream input i get 24/7. The honesty in her voice is priceless and that’s what lets a song transport emotion and creates value in my music obsessed world. So, Thank God It’s Thursday ! And Bon Voyage, fellow Berlin, singstress Melis. This song will go far!

Marlon Percy X Dariush Gold – Leaving

maxresdefault 4

Great mellow open road feel, honest sound with a modern touch, love the interaction or even team play of the sub basses, the vocal chops, those sincere guitar chords and everything else that is going on. This is the right mood to take off into the night and hop on a train/plane for an adventure somewhere in the great unknown.  The tune doesn’t pretend to be more than it is and it does a damn good job without relying on pure effects. It’s another one of the many catchy tunes atm, but somehow it still sticks with you! Give it a few rounds and catch yourself humming “you know i’ll be leaving” unexpectedly during the day. Ps. Not recommended while playing violent video games, it will make you throw down your arms and the pacifying mind state will make you lose every round – tried & tested. But.. put it on your big bassy speakers, let the bass unfold, spark a doob, and see where it takes you.

A simpler, dumbed down beat could have taken this tune into mainstream popularity, but it would have taken so much of its finesse away – and its highly appreciated the  way it is!! Thank god there is room for art in the world, and not everything sounds like future bass/edm/808beats. Definitely going into this months top tunes!
