Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) – Ni**as in Poorest

Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) – Niggas In Poorest

I was only ready to post this after having played it out loud last weekend. Works at the right time, for not too long though. I know its a critical tune, if i were to listen to the lyrics, which i won’t – like i said many times before – i stopped listening to rap vocals a long time. No matter if the intention is good or bad, its definitely the wrong mantras to carry with you in everyday life. I don’t care about his interpolation on last years biggest rap tune, i also don’t wanna become occupied with story telling – of who, why and what. I simply don’t care. It’s a good tune with a good energy here.

“Ain’t My Fault” Gulf Aid Allstars aka Mos Def & Co (Nickodemus & PJT’s REMIX)

Nice remix of the Gulf Aid Allstars aka Mos Def, Lenny Kravitz, the Preservation Hall Band, Trombone Shorty, and Tim Robbins, the remix would have even worked up a proper storm w/o the oldschool drums and some moombahton or latin drumming, but it flawlessly manages to keep the vibe of the original track and is therefore a really solid refix. Great¬†original in the first place and i just love playing this jam. Mos Def can do anything and i guess i’d like it, oh wait…he does anything and i do like his stuff.

“It aint my Fault”

perfect for this hot summer night, an all the way ragtime sounding tune, by these cats: “Mos Def, Lenny Kravitz, the Preservation Hall Band, Trombone Shorty, and Tim Robbins teamed up recently to record It Ain’t My Fault to benefit Gulf Aid, a nonprofit created in response to the oil spill off the Louisiana Coast. Check out the video above and if you’re interested in donating to the cause, please visit http://GulfAid.org”(taken from the youtube description)
