Helsinki’s very own DJ Anonymous has been a fixture on the local club scene since the early-90’s and on the radio waves since 1997, when he was commissioned to produce his first nationally broadcasted mix show (NOTE: together with DJ Didier, now producer for Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators etc). He is the winner of numerous national DJ awards and is particularly known for his crowd rocking skills, deep musical knowledge and wide taste ranging from hip hop to house, from disco to dancehall and from the classic to the obscure.
In addition to all local clubs DJ Anonymous has rocked dancefloors at diverse venues such as London’s Nottinghill Arts Club, New York’s APT, Los Angeles’ LAX, Frankfurt’s Cocoon Micro, Munich’s Erste Liga, Moscow’s Club 16 Tons, Stockholm’s Berns & Barcelona’s Apollo. He has produced remixes for acclaimed local labels Top Billin and Jazz Puu and is currently involved in the Kovalevy, Top Billin, Ring The Alarm!, House Kiinnostaa, Rap Classique & Yo! Kuudes Linja Raps club nights in Helsinki. Since early 2007 he has also been writing an internationally acclaimed music blog with daily updates and frequent mixes at www.djanonymous.fi.
Over the years DJ Anonymous has opened for legends and underground faves such as Public Enemy, Common, The Roots, J Dilla, 50 Cent & G-Unit, De La Soul, Jungle Brothers, Afrika Bambaataa, Devin The Dude, Grandmaster Flash & Edan.
He has also shared bills with a wide array of international DJ’s such as Norman Jay, Diplo, Daniel Wang, DJ Ayres, Cosmo Baker, Tittsworth, Chairman Mao, Rapid Ric, Eli Escobar, Mike B, Peanut Butter Wolf, James Pants, B.Cause, Martelo, DJ Spinna, Gilles Peterson, Cut Chemist, DJ Funk, Bobby Konders, Kenny Dope & Sany Pitbull.
