[audio:http://www.chromemusic.de/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/Oro-mo-Bhaidin-Mixtape.mp3]pspsps – BIIIIIIG THAAAANK YOUS FOR EVERYBOOODY COMING DOWN THE LAST TIME. Me and Stevie Mac had a blast of blast. Top Friend Party already the one and only place to go to on a Thursday.
Our Friend and new-found buddy Koala from Trondheim sent us this mix here, which he did on a short note last friday, a quite enjoyable mix in the vein and tradition of chromemusic – thank you Stig, nice one.
Another track that Chiddy Bang / Xaphoon Jones sent. I like these kids. They sound like a breath of fresh air and are somehow among the only “real” hiphop you’ll find in our sets these days. But whats real anyway? That 90ies term sounds so corny. Hope this finds its way through the bloglands and the interwebs. These guys are gonna go their way and they can count on us to support them. ★★★chromemusic approved★★★
“Gotta find a new World (YUM YUM edit)” – Check out our Edit of Al Greens classic, which incorporates the drums from Amy Winehouse favourite “I am no good” as produced by Mark Ronson. Also a little Wu-Tang (Method Man) vocal is dropped in the middle of the edit, primarily because this Al Green song gained popularity in the mid 90ies when it was sampled by the RZA and used as the sole sample source for Ghostface Killah’s “Iron Maiden”? track from his debut album. Ps. True story: I used to play this song, for years until the vinyl – Shaolin Soul vol 1- actually broke one night when i was out playing. Somebody dropped it on the floor and stood on it for quite some time. Then it took me 2 years to find another vinyl copy, and after i finally did i had to go for a 180gr pressing which is just not suitable for playing. Played it anyway and i think an edit/version of this song was long overdue. So here it is – make sure to play it out loud.
Put on your Feiyue Dancing Shoes (http://www.feiyue-shoes.com/pages_uk/accueil.php) and step out to MAO. Kamikaze, who moved out to Asia 4 years ago is throwing the 3rd YUM YUM together with DJ Wasilli; playing a set on 4 turntables (and maybe 1 mic, depending on the amount of alcohol) Skip korean-ktv-karaoke for one night and show this “岳阳路46号，近东平路” to your taxi-driver. YUM YUM becoming a party favourite and regular in Shanghai. Its been one in Germany for the longest. Looking at you Berlin, wink, wink.
No event on Facebook (fbs switched off in China)

I am there at least 2-3 times a year. so next time i ll pay these guys a quick visit, hook up for dinner in the tower or play some frisbee @ Lumphini park or go see Aoki play at club 808 like last year. Don’t know too much about them but they have a more than decent taste in music – Nice mix – could play well at of our top friend parties, Tracklist is filled with a lot of our YUM YUM associated artists & tunes. Ps check their blog – bangkokradio and the tracklist after the jump.Enjoy
…or is it just me? havent been involved in a tv show that much in a long time. with characters as uniquily dumb and full of clichees as Andy Bellefleure, Jason Stackhouse or Lafayette. Seldomly have i seen a show with characters packed that were as intriguingly dumb as these guys. I LOVED IT. it was all working towards the big finale, EP 10 was on some town turns Zombie shit and then EP 11, which was nothing but an hour long lead-in to nothing, where is did all that real looney stuff go, christian fanatics? the god with horns? etc – all the magic d’esprit just went “poof”. Imagine going to a 8 course meal and getting some Freedom fries served as the main menue. Sookie & Bill are on some Twilight crap – screw that. To put it into Andy Bellefleures Words “Aww Shiaat. i don’t believe it. you devil – worshipping whores” or simly LAAAAME
comments welcome
