More new music in our YUM YUM rotation

KWELI.jpgGreat new tunes have been released this month. Lets start with the Bside of Mos Defs new single aka “There is a way“. A smooth sing a long tune. nice having him back. Kelis with “Lil Star” & her equally good track “Weekend” – which sound a lot like one of my 80ies favourite. The RUB.jpgonly track that is appealing to me from the new Roots Album has got to be “Baby“. Lupe Fiascos lead single to his debut album is called “Daydreamin” abd features one of my favourite soul singers: Jill Scott. Great cover of an all time favourite 70ies tune. Also check out the nice “Daydreamin” video. Beyonce has (as previously mentioned) one heavy, heavy track on her new album that isn’t really doing anything for me except this one track called “Suga Mama“. Gritty tune. JILLSCOTT.jpgA YUM YUM fave that you have probably heard before but is still worth mentioning is the funky break-based Quantic Rmx of “Work it Out”. Last months YUM YUM Special guests the Rub have a new MIX-CD out.”Its the motherfu**ing Remix Vol. 2.2“. Faeturing such tracks as teh A-Track remix of Nelly Furtados “Promiscuous Girl” mashed with the Raconteurs. Worth rechecking another YUM YUM favourite: “Prominxs GirlNelly vs Inxs. Talib Kweli is about to release his MOSDEF.jpgnew album and so today sees the release of his new single “Listen” which has been a YUM YUM favourite for the last 3 months or so. If you haven’t check in last week make sure to watch his “Listen” video. Jurassic 5 are back to work with my favourite track of their recent effort called “Get it together” and their funny video to “Work it out”.JUIRASSIC_5.jpg
A little classic with a lot of class. Serge Gainsbourg & Brigitte Bardots “Bonnie & Clyde”

Bill Clinton does the conservative media

BillClinton.jpgFormer president Bill Clinton getting under heavy media artillery at present for having an angry & emotional outbreak on Chris Wallaces rightwinged, popaganda show on FoxNews after being questioned why he (!) didn’t do more about Bin Laden. The interesting part of the infamous interview from last sunday. Even though it might have been calculated – i have to applaud him. Finally someone giving the neocons flag for the crisis they have led the world into. The Daily Show has something to say about this. Hats off Jon Stewart.

4 Good Parties this Weekend

maimunnrw100cut.jpgIn case you are looking for something to do, this weekend offers plenty of variety. There are 4 different parties that have a concept:
No. 1 is this Friday/ September 29th: MaiMun – at Duisburgs Hundertmeister in NRW. With my rock favourites Die Redaktion doing a little trip to showcase the Sounds of Maimun in NRW. You know their steez and their modern independent and rock attitude. Their infos and poster. Have fun up there and enjoy the great crowd at Hundertmeister.

MFG100.jpgNo2: – September 30th. On Saturday in Munich will be the MFG Party at Ampere which is like a pure German Hip Hop Party with all the classics and all your german lingo favourites. The MFG – Deutscher Hip Hop Poster and listen to a full MFG Teaser/stream of their music and what you can expect. Both Djs make my Hip Hop Djs favourite spot: Surpreme and X-man. Check their website for tracklistings, further info on their idea & a neat stream. Great intention.

Their LB allstars are lined up for this breaks and new school extravaganza.

Ferris100.jpgNo.4 is “Ferris” and finally on another day – the coming Monday October 2nd which i still count as Weekend because there is a holiday on Tuesday, so all you drunkies can stay in bed. Its called “Ferris macht blau” (like the movie) with all the infos on the Flyer. Ferris is going to be at Registratur and showcases pure 80ies retro sounds mixed in Hip Hop kind of way. They have a mixtape out which can be found at Chicas, the We shop and Play Records. Great thing that i am personally looking out for. With Djs Max Mausser and NotFx.
