Nice remix of the Gulf Aid Allstars aka Mos Def, Lenny Kravitz, the Preservation Hall Band, Trombone Shorty, and Tim Robbins, the remix would have even worked up a proper storm w/o the oldschool drums and some moombahton or latin drumming, but it flawlessly manages to keep the vibe of the original track and is therefore a really solid refix. Great original in the first place and i just love playing this jam. Mos Def can do anything and i guess i’d like it, oh wait…he does anything and i do like his stuff.

Finally the album is here… we wrote about Sallie Ford over a year ago, even had one of her songs (Danger) in our annual top tunes and the way i described their sound was “…I feel the sun shining through in their music, i feel like sippin a cold lemonade under a summer tree near the lake… and seriously it has such an open and positive vibe (aargh words again) – Simply love this band.”

As soon as it gets hot – and its 37 degrees today in Berlin, Lissie instantly pops back up on my headphones, her smooth, enchanting folky, country music is made for the good weather and thats one but not the only reason she is featured on my new Sweet Serenade Mixtape, out in July.
