Since YUM YUM is participating at the Stroke Urban Art Fair this year (again). We decided to do a 3 part post documenting selected and most prestigeous works of the most prominent street artist in the world. A little street art to uplift your daily routines and have a giggle or two. We are not really some arty farty fellas but Mr B is a must-know and his material is message wise so dead on. Dieses Gemälde befindet sich an einem Gebäudes in Bethlehem, im besetzten Westjordanland. Wir befinden uns an einem der Hauptstraßen, die vom Checkpoint Bethlehem aus nach Jerusalem führen. Das Bild ist aus Sicherheitsgründen auf die Seite des Hauses gemalt.  Die Soldaten sind misstrauisch gegenüber Menschen, die zu lange am Stück an diesem Ort bleiben. Sie werden in der Regel wegen terroristischer Aktivitäten verhaftet.

“Diese Wand ist ein Ort, an dem über 40 Menschen während der Ersten Intafada hingerichtet wurden. Man sieht oben am Rand noch die Einschusslöcher.

Während Bansky malte, kamen viele Menschen vorbei. Einige von ihnen schüttelten ihm die Hand, andere wiederum wollten ihn davonjagen. Schließlich musste man die Polizei rufen, um die Menschenansammlung zu zerschlagen. Nach einiger Zeit verließ Bansky den Ort und einheimische Jugendliche vollendeten sein Werk.
