Don’t really like the 2004 original that much, but this remix here is something special. The reggae vibes transform it into something else – taking out all the cheesiness or actually bringing out the full cheesiness and making it one of those crowd tunes where the ones who care oh so much about their coolness go “I don’t like it but i am acting like i’m loving it, cause that’s how sarcastic i can get” and the ones who are there to enjoy themselves turn instantly into a happy crowd. The choise is up to you if you are still gonna be caught up in appearances and depending on someone elses appreciation (out of fear, cause that’s what insecurities and complexes are) or if you are just gonna enjoy the moments given, always conscious of the consequences of your actions (so no, yolo and intellectual mindfucks do not apply here). This tune is one of those sing a long – happy crowd is happy kind of songs that you can play at any point of the night, if you’re a dj. Ich erinner mich an eine laue Sommernacht in Berlin letztes Jahr. Zufällig mein Geburtstag. Gekühltes Bier, Gras unter den Füßen, die Freiheit der Großstadt hängt in der Luft. Menschen mit Herz um mich, Gedanken werden zu Worten, Gespräche übers Leben – wie und wo und warum überhaupt und für was – nehmen ihren Lauf.
Einer dieser Herzmenschen ist Taiga Trece. Offen und neugierig sitzen wir uns gegenüber, schimpfen gemeinsam über München, heben Berlin (wohl etwas zu viel) in den Himmel, um dann einstimmig fest zu stellen, dass Geld verdienen und gleichzeitig seine Träume zu leben wohl überall auf dieser Welt schwer ist…
Und dann erreicht mich die Nachricht, dass diese wunderschöne Frau ihre erste EP “7 auf ein’ Streich” fertig hat und am 31. März in München ihre Relaease Party durch die Decke gehen wird. Unterstützt von Antun Opic (ich feier jetzt schon), Beatstalker und Rapper Lux wird gerappt – auf Spanisch, Englisch, Deutsch und Portugiesisch.
Den Vortrag über Frauenpower im Showbusiness oder die tote Hip Hop Szene in München spar ich mir hier. Denn diese Lady hat genug zu sagen über ihre Heimat, ihre Wurzeln, das Vergangene und Kommende.
Ich freu mich natürlich in erster Linie als Freundin für und mit Taiga Trece. Gleichzeitig weiß ich, wie unglaublich schwer es gerade in München sein kann, eine Release Party, ein Konzert o.ä. ohne den großen Topf voll Gold auf die Beine zu stellen.
