gnarlsman.jpgA new month a new selection. plenty of new tunes coming your way – enjoy and make up your mind what your favourite track is. (ps “Rockin Robin” also incorporates the Method Man/ Redman classic “How High”)
Have a listen and a laugh.

Here’s this months YUM YUM Top Tune Selection:

(all new YUM YUM version can be found on the YUM YUM Vol.4 Mix)

2. “Roxannes HumpThe Police vs Fergie (YUM YUM Vers)
3. “Time after TimeCindy Lauper re-edit (YUM YUM Version)
4. “Deja-RockAretha Franklin vs Beyonce (YUM YUM Vers)
5. “Lil StarKelis & Cee-Lo
6. “EnuffDj Shadow & Q-Tip
7.Damn Girl” by Justin Timberlake

kelis1.jpgReally had to do No. 1 this month. Finally a mix that would match the original Smily Faces track of Gnarls Barkley. The young 11- year old Michael Jackson fitted just perfectly and so did Meth & Redman. While No.2 was a nuisance – I am not a fan of the Black Eyed Peas – i just wanted to see if i can incorporate one of their aretha1.jpgmany accapellas into a track that i like without automatically making it suck. This one works – it had its testrun last week. “Roxannes Humps” seems to work extremly wellSting keeps on singing about how she doesn*t have to sell her body to the night while Fergie keeps bragging on about her Humps. Well no need to be a prostitute is all i can say. As for the rest – there are plenty of great tunes that you are gonna get to hear this Friday October 6th. Looking forward for a big, big night.

More new music in our YUM YUM rotation

KWELI.jpgGreat new tunes have been released this month. Lets start with the Bside of Mos Defs new single aka “There is a way“. A smooth sing a long tune. nice having him back. Kelis with “Lil Star” & her equally good track “Weekend” – which sound a lot like one of my 80ies favourite. The RUB.jpgonly track that is appealing to me from the new Roots Album has got to be “Baby“. Lupe Fiascos lead single to his debut album is called “Daydreamin” abd features one of my favourite soul singers: Jill Scott. Great cover of an all time favourite 70ies tune. Also check out the nice “Daydreamin” video. Beyonce has (as previously mentioned) one heavy, heavy track on her new album that isn’t really doing anything for me except this one track called “Suga Mama“. Gritty tune. JILLSCOTT.jpgA YUM YUM fave that you have probably heard before but is still worth mentioning is the funky break-based Quantic Rmx of “Work it Out”. Last months YUM YUM Special guests the Rub have a new MIX-CD out.”Its the motherfu**ing Remix Vol. 2.2“. Faeturing such tracks as teh A-Track remix of Nelly Furtados “Promiscuous Girl” mashed with the Raconteurs. Worth rechecking another YUM YUM favourite: “Prominxs GirlNelly vs Inxs. Talib Kweli is about to release his MOSDEF.jpgnew album and so today sees the release of his new single “Listen” which has been a YUM YUM favourite for the last 3 months or so. If you haven’t check in last week make sure to watch his “Listen” video. Jurassic 5 are back to work with my favourite track of their recent effort called “Get it together” and their funny video to “Work it out”.JUIRASSIC_5.jpg
A little classic with a lot of class. Serge Gainsbourg & Brigitte Bardots “Bonnie & Clyde”

new Talib Kweli Song & Video “Listen”

060112_talib_kweli.jpg Talib Kweli, my favourite mc – up to this day, with his new song “Listen”. It has been in the YUM YUM song rotation for two n a half months now already and there is no sign of it getting less playtime. Actually the video just came out. Enjoy this beautiful new Talib Video – check out “Listen”.

two more YUM YUM alltime favourites by Talib Kweli: both as videos – “Get by” by Talib Kweli and “Definition” by Blackstar aka Kweli & Mos Def.

Gnarls Barkley “Smiley Faces” Video

gbarkelysmileyfaces.jpgThe new gnarls barkley video “smiley faces” is even way better than their previous one. The only real discovery for the music world this must be the mashup of hip hop icon “Cee Lo” of Goodie Mob Fame and Producer Danger Mouse of the Grey Album fame. Watch the full video version, which is styled like a documentary. Best video at present.
