We just had one of this lovely warm summer nights last week with James Hersey live on stage and a glass of red wine. A week later the sun escaped again but filous brings back the chilled summer vibe with his first original track ever of his upcoming EP “Dawn”. Thumbs up for this collaboration with James Hersey, to me filous is always telling something like – don’t worry, everything will be alright or just relax, world is turning anyway. Always a good feeling, can’t wait for the EP :)
Pretty much everything i want in a song! Ever since i heard this song, i had it on heavy rotation on my devices and on my mind. In other words: I – am – hooked! The perfect soundtrack for your… everything. Lions Head is bound to be huge, in no time at all, and not only according to the brilliant tropical remixes that are currently floating around! Hell yeah, this is my favourite summer anthem (so far)!

There are times and moments when you totally loose your inner self. Even if you feel settled in your mind, if you actually had the clearest ideas of how something has to be and how the outer world has to turn and move. Maybe you know the feeling of being aware of your patterns and bad habits and even you think you already know so much about yourself and the people you see everyday…even then scary moments exist. Or better said – moments when you get scared by yourself. Maybe scared is the wrong term but you get surprised by your patterns that are always all around you and it seems like they are just waiting to get back control.
So what to do? Nothing :) Just watch yourself, be quiet, slow down and listen to this sweet song. Just now you realize how great life can be. Obenewa’s “He” is dulcet in its tone, giving us a first taste of this London songstress. So the story goes, she was sick in bed when she started singing some lyrics a cappella, these lyrics would form “He,” the sultry record we have today. With an influx of DJ’s strutting their newest gadgets, Obenewa firmly puts her flag in the sand, letting us know that an emotionally and talented voice can still captivate an audience.
The debut track is deeply felt, where she talks about a break-up. It’s a fluid combination of soul, R&B, and snarl of rock. Of course, we are awaiting what else Obenewa has in production, with only one track up on SoundCloud Obenewa is poised to shake things up a bit.

This tune is gonna be huge! ChromeMusic has always been a fan of the original and Cajsa Siik’s music in general, but this rework that i have heard at 3 (!) different parties last weekend alone just kills it. Its catchy enough so that the mainstream can get on the bandwagon, and at the same time transports that summery good vibe feel that i am looking for in zeitgeisty music. Pure bliss and sonic remedy in the endless stream of new remixes, this one stands out bc it is a song by itself and that’s what i expect from a remix: To give it a different twist and feel, but still staying true to and respecting the original material. According to the amount this tune has been played in our office and on college radio already, we are gonna hear this one a lot this summer – and that’s a good thing!
