Now Playing Magazine

‘Now Playing Magazine’ was formerly known as an printed magazine, focused on entertainment including movies, television, music etc. Nowadays you can find it here, in the world wide web, based in paris and focusing on new music from different genres. Visit the Blog over here. It’s not astonishing that they also have a bandcamp account, promoting artists with their new music. I picked my favourites to share it with all of you. It’s also possible to listen and download the whole 11-track album beneath. Enjoy !

Great Art Blog “Annina.fr” and so much, much more, by one of our very own yum yum cofounders

Fruits from annina roescheisen on Vimeo.

Annina who is one of my dearest friends and YUM YUM founders, (she was there right when it all started and actually was also responsible for a lot of input, for a lot of the styles and a lot of great ideas), who now lives in Paris for a few years has finally started her own blog – www.annina.fr– its about Contemporary & Modern Art, Exhibitions her music and all other things related. Coming from the heart of Paris, Annina is quite personal, honest and from deep within and thats just what a blog is supposed to be, i gave it a look for a few weeks before putting it online, cause i wanted to see if this was an ongoing endeavour, but hey – i am quite hooked, so here you go or voila > check out Anninas page and please make sure to check out her video section. Amazing material! The music posted is quite touching and so you can tell where she is coming from, and how this is a progress in each and every way. Her eyes are wide open – Welcome Cinderella!

If i was to do a music video for any of my music, Annina & her folks would be the only people i would ask. The quality is amazing and there is a definite unique feel to it and that feel is her own self, which she now no longer minds sharing with everyone. Lovely! Have fun with her site! You might learn something… but you will definitely have fun.

PS Please share this website and spread the word. Thank you all!!

W have spent so much time together and here is one of her favourite tunes and a YUM YUM classic (i think we used to listen to the instumental in some long nights). Just because you are who you are, we are reconsidering doing YUM YUM in Paris. Thank you

Crookers – this friday @ Theaterfabrik, munich

Okay first off the popular information – This Friday Crookers are playing at Theaterfabrik in munich alongside Birdy Nam Nam, the Acid Kids and myself. That alone should be way enough to set any roof on fire, but i wanna dig a bit deeper in the subject, focus more on the Crookers, who they are, what they have done and all the things they have moved in the past 2 years.

crookers

RSVP to the event on facebook.

Musically the first part is gonna include a couple of Crookers Mashups & remixes, the 2nd one – their most prolific classics and the third one is gonna be their latest material.

Well first off they are among the biggest names there are right now(think Justice, Basement Jaxx, Boys Noize, etc). They single handedly put italy back on the map – nobody forgets the boot – but musically it has been asleep for at least 20 years. They put the cool back in the otherwise forbidden word “techno”, mixed it with crunk and let’s say “ghetto” (i know it sounds corny but euroheads know what i’m talking about). The guys are a bunch of hip hop heads that produced the kind of electronic sound that made them become the go-to-guys for rave anthems. Somehow their sound was even appealing to all the big record industry players – that all of a sudden wanted to to be produced by them (Black eyed peas etc). In general they somehow were among the first ons to start that hiphop-rave hybrid thats the new global phenomenon. They became a household name and actually famous via the blog world – among the first ones. next part tomorrow:  Their releases.

15 Pages of crookers on hype machine – that alone says it all! – and over 100.000 fans on facebook.

Learn how to create your own music and remixes

I recently found an excellent site with a bunch of tutorials covering almost everything necessary when it comes to music production. The blog is ran by music pros plus the tutorials are suited for beginners as well as for experts. The site is called AUDIOTUTS and can be found here.

Here are a few examples:

How to create and dominate Hip-Hop drums (Yaaaawn… yeah… dominate yourself!)

How to record the best live drum set ever

How to DJ with Ableton Live

So go and create your own (as Sony puts it).
