Perfect Winter Song! – Running Away by Sonnengruss

Everynow and then comes along a track that pushes you into daydreaming like no other. Sonnengruss just delivered one of those gems, his new track “Running Away”, which has been out since last Friday. Sonnengruss delivers a wonderfully lush vocal line with a very reduced instrumental track, that pushes forward with its deep bassline. Listen to this on full volume and close your eyes and drift away in your dreams about your once unknowingly loved ones. Keep two ears out for this guy!

More Than I Do (feat. Oferle) by Saxity

Harmonious contrast: Dance music act Saxity & family band Oferle blurring lines.
Musician- and producer duo SAXITY from Cologne, Germany teams up with Indiana’s (USA) family band Oferle to create a catchy dance tune blurring the lines between Deep House, Pop and modern Country songwriting. With “More Than I Do”, the acts are bridging the gap of DJ culture and down-to-earth musicianship with a song which is both: Purely danceable as well as dreamy and emotional.

Pure Summer Vibes! SEASIDE HIGHLIFE “Sideways” by The YUM YUM’s

Soundcloud is over and Spotify is the new playground. This track came out 5 months ago and it’s more than destined for the summer time and beyond, much further beyond. Pretty much like Matt Simmons or many of the other tracks with that beach, tropical, summer feel in mind. It has amassed over 3 Mio plays so far (!!) and is grinding out loads of plays on different college radios and on Spotify on the daily, while it’s still far from peaking! . Funny how that all changed and Spotify alone is the driving force behind this tune, w/o any promotion whatsoever. Let’s see where Spotify pushes this tune to show its dominance and make it among the first tunes to climb the ladder from within Spotify to the outside world…So now here is the first “promotional post” for Sideways which is the very first of many tunes to come by Seaside Highlife. Reminsicent of many things like Milky Chance (Songwriter), Kungs (Horn Drop), Matt Simmons (Tropical Feel) and many more along the lines. Pure summer time feel and feel good fun. Plus that funk feel gives me the goosebumps. “I see you dancing…” Have a greta summer!

Ed Sheeran – “Drunk in Love” (Dominique Jardin Remix). A Star In the Making. FREE DL

Dominique is already a star in the making. Lady is playing 90+ gigs a year for a respectable fee, playing the cool festivals and what not, partying with the big boys and i mean the BIG names, and she is the new global Red Bull EDM festival correspondent! So she is probably what has been missing on the EDM, Deep House, Electronic side of things, a respected and fun female dj who is not the defender of a cultural elite, exclusively deejaying in some halftime hip little bar in kreuzberg. She is cut out for the big stage, where girls belong as much as guys do. It’s just funny that is always has to be an Austrian who does it first in Europe for the rest to follow, and she is of course from Vienna…

I saw a few gigs of her and not even Avicii started at that level, where she already is. She is also a brand ambassador for Mercedes, as in Mercedes Benz, not Mercedes, my chilean house keeper, the more surprising it is that this is her first tune… ever… “she just didn’t feel the time was right.” Even though it’s a remix, you pretty much see where she is going with this. I call that focus.

And whats even more surprising is that she plays the cool side of things, she sent me one of her sets and she lives, although big room, right on the Dillon Francis side of things. and her first track is proof of that. Ed Sheeran took my favourite Beyonce song and turned it into an acoustic ballad, Dominique took Eds cover and turned it into a festival monster, with all the right ingredients, future bass, a trancy build up and whatnot. I had this on repeat, and i wouldn’t even call this EDM, but i also heard what else she had in store – and it’s gonna be good. Some big fat US cat is gonna come around and hijack the dame before any of us even knows what has happened and who she is. And she is gonna blow up stateside. If my label was into that kind of music i’d sign her right away, but so she is gonna do 2 remixes for me and i am super fine with that, bc the first one already came out a monster.

ps. i had never heard of her before we started chatting 2 months ago. shame on me! check out her website

Matthew Heyer Ft. Kyiki – My Melody

Matthew Heyer undermines his status as a hit delivery engine, but that has yet to peak. This goes pretty much in the dj snake vein, but still has a more of a dance music feel to it, so you can see that he is capable of more than one style. I think no limitations, experimenting and showing interest in other styles is what makes up the journey of being a good producer. Let’s see where we will see Matthew end up! Curious about his development.
