Karla Kenya – September When I First Met You

September 21, 2012

Karlas a good friend of mine from Vienna, uh Berlin, uh Laipzig and i guess Kenya ? I thoroughly enjoy her deejaying, she reminds me of the 80ies Neneh Cherry with her quirkiness. And guys enjoy watching her do whatever she might be doing. Thats the eye candy part, but the lady has heart and is dediacted to music, putting on parties, professionally running radio shows and what not. Give her mix a listen. For friends of Deep House, Tech, Afrobeat… Good to have you back.

Saskwatch – Your Love 7″

August 26, 2012

Stumbled across Melbourne based soul & funk band ‘Saskwatch’ tonight and they totally blew my mind. Listen yourself and grab their single ‘Your Love‘ or the entire album ‘Leave It All Behind‘ on Bandcamp.

Bizarre Tribe: A Quest to The Pharcyde (Teaser Video + Single) by Gummy Soul

August 23, 2012

Here is what they had to say about their latest offering:

“Greetings from Gummy Soul!

As we approach the one year anniversary of 2011′s award winning Fela Soul release, we’re pleased to give you a sampling from Amerigo Gazaway’s upcoming mashup project, “Bizarre Tribe: A Quest to The Pharcyde”. Utilizing dozens of original Jazz, Soul and Funk recordings sampled throughout A Tribe Called Quest’s extensive catalogue, Gazaway recreates classic productions – pairing his reinterpreted instrumentals with select vocals from West Coast “golden era” favorites, The Pharcyde.
Full album drops on the one year anniversary of Fela Soul (Sept 13th). In the meanwhile, watch the teaser video and download the single below. Also, be sure to follow us on Facebook/Twitter for more updates.”
