Dominique is already a star in the making. Lady is playing 90+ gigs a year for a respectable fee, playing the cool festivals and what not, partying with the big boys and i mean the BIG names, and she is the new global Red Bull EDM festival correspondent! So she is probably what has been missing on the EDM, Deep House, Electronic side of things, a respected and fun female dj who is not the defender of a cultural elite, exclusively deejaying in some halftime hip little bar in kreuzberg. She is cut out for the big stage, where girls belong as much as guys do. It’s just funny that is always has to be an Austrian who does it first in Europe for the rest to follow, and she is of course from Vienna…
I saw a few gigs of her and not even Avicii started at that level, where she already is. She is also a brand ambassador for Mercedes, as in Mercedes Benz, not Mercedes, my chilean house keeper, the more surprising it is that this is her first tune… ever… “she just didn’t feel the time was right.” Even though it’s a remix, you pretty much see where she is going with this. I call that focus.
And whats even more surprising is that she plays the cool side of things, she sent me one of her sets and she lives, although big room, right on the Dillon Francis side of things. and her first track is proof of that. Ed Sheeran took my favourite Beyonce song and turned it into an acoustic ballad, Dominique took Eds cover and turned it into a festival monster, with all the right ingredients, future bass, a trancy build up and whatnot. I had this on repeat, and i wouldn’t even call this EDM, but i also heard what else she had in store – and it’s gonna be good. Some big fat US cat is gonna come around and hijack the dame before any of us even knows what has happened and who she is. And she is gonna blow up stateside. If my label was into that kind of music i’d sign her right away, but so she is gonna do 2 remixes for me and i am super fine with that, bc the first one already came out a monster.
ps. i had never heard of her before we started chatting 2 months ago. shame on me! check out her website
This one goes out to all my DJ buddies + the ones i don’t know yet or haven’t played some records with. Hope you dig it! Outstanding remix of Whitney Houston‘s “Fine” by french producers LeMarquis & Tilka. Club-ready and mixable with nearly every track by Kaytranada beyond 110 bpm, for example. Have a great day!
Was sitting in my bathtub while searching for new music and this one suddenly popped up. Listened several times and i really like it by now cause this cover remix of Outkast’s “Ms. Jackson” has it’s very own special magic. This is their first release and the production style reminds me of Borneland & Jean Tonique. Free Download over here.
Update: Dude approved!
Deep Chills doing what he does. Simple effective dance music. Ingredients are pop & sugary vibes, and a cool electronic bass line. Both in harmonious balance to make the track approachable and attractive for 2 different types of crowds. Well done and a remix that truly deserves the tag remix, if you care to check out the original.
Monogem – Take It Slow (Deep Chills Remix)
Great remix of an already great original song, cause you can’t go wrong with UK beat- and tastemaker Mura Masa these days. Tonton, a producer based in the Netherlands, hit #1 on the Hype Machine with this remix of “Lotus Eater” earlier this year and i think it’s time to share it here on CM now. Don’t hesitate, grab your Free Download and add the song to your playlist if you like what you hear.
