and every summer Lissie comes back to me

As soon as it gets hot – and its 37 degrees today in Berlin, Lissie instantly pops back up on my headphones, her smooth, enchanting folky, country music is made for the good weather and thats one but not the only reason she is featured on my new Sweet Serenade Mixtape, out in July. If your not one of Lissie 100k facebook fans, you probably dont have her 2010 album “Catching a Tiger” either… but you should!  Here are two of my favourite pieces which have been all over blogland for the past 10 months or so.Beautiful music, and just perfect for a hot day at the lake..

Ben Sollee ‘Wild World’ (Cat Stevens cover)

Chromemusic favourite Ben Sollee , who has been included on almost each one of our Sweet Serenade mixtapes so far, returns with the first track of his upcoming album “Inclusions” which you can preorder via Bandcamp. I am a huge fan of his sweet, soulful music and i have been looking fwd to some new music from Ben Sollee, & judging from the first track his new album will make no exception. Really in love with this tune..

*ps i guess Cat Stevens wrote a song for all my  girlfriends & buddies that got lost in the world*

Here to refresh your memory are 2 more of his tracks and our all time favourites:

More Sallie Ford & the Outside Sound “Not an Animal”

I really love this band, bought her 5 track ep, and every tune is timeless. I can’t praise this up and coming band enough. I already did in my first post about them a couple of months back. Haven’t heard from a new album on the horizon but seriously buy the ep and tell them to make a move to Europe. That’s one band I wanna see live or maybe even bring over ourselves.

YUM YUM Folk Mixtape “Sweet Serenade Vol 2” compiled and a little bit mixed by chrome

“Give you the heavens and the sunshine” this is what this mix is about, steppin away from the beat driven music to give some music i listen to when hanging in my yellow hamock.

After the huge success which my first mix represented by being heard simply everywhere i went, i did another one – actually i am planning on doing a whole series (have 6 covers already finished and mix 3 is in the pipeline). Enjoy this one – especially in these quiet days. So have fun and let the hamock sway.
