Maverick Sabre – Let me go

Outstanding tune by a new Uk star, London born irish raised singer Maverick Sabre, lays down this soulful tune “Let me go” (released July 24th) as an opener to his debut album (nov 2011). If you are into the likes of Cee Lo, Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse, Jamie Lidell, this is your man right now, but in comparison to aforementioned this guy also incorporates the modern Uk Sound of Now and still manages to walk the fine line of keeping it soulful, harmonious and vibrant at all times. Its time that one of the really talented new artists represented the youth of today, instead of all that plastic stuff. Looking fwd to his album in Nov and the release of his single. Cant wait to play it out loud. Enjoy this low quality radio rip of “Let me go” that damn video is not working in germany (again). pls start using a  proxy everyone. this video restriction crap just aint fun no more. Enough ranting . enjoy Mavericks youtube channel & especially this tune, will be a biggie in no time at all!!

Aalyiah – Try Again (a rare approvable remix, that is not an insult to the original)

Nice & smooth Aaliyah remix by ITFW – really having a hard time these days, even attempting to listen to a remix of one of these classic soul/ hip hop tunes that get slaughtered regularly by too many bedroom djs and that whole awful mashup scene. No, Aaliyah and Daft Punk dont mix, morons! Anyway Try again has been and still is (like most of her stuff) all time classic material, minus the remixes, except that 45 king remix that was on the original 12″. This remix really lifts it up to a chill 2011 spirit, that is so much lacking these days, and is in complete contrast to the original – which was a global floor killer. Sounds a bit like the Lunice material, not as musical though, but compatible from educated hiphop to irony misunderstanding hipster.

Another gret find by chromemusic head contributor: Shawn C. White!

Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside finally release their debut Album “Dirty Radio”

Finally the album is here… we wrote about Sallie Ford over a year ago, even had one of her songs (Danger) in our annual top tunes and the way i described their sound was “…I feel the sun shining through in their music, i feel like sippin a cold lemonade under a summer tree near the lake… and seriously it has such an open and positive vibe (aargh words again) – Simply love this band.”

And thank god, their debut album is no different!!! Check it out and please make sure to get it. Here s a link to their new Album “Dirty Radio” via itunes and their 2010 EP via bandcamp.

Ps i really really want to see you guys live, so make sure to tour the Eu anytime soon… uh …please!

The Weeknd – “The Morning” (Music Video) / Rolling Stone / House of Ballons (album)

Torontos Weeknd has been making quite a ruckus recently, and everyone has their music playing, its a great thing to see good music get recognition and their mixtape – slash – album House of Balloons has been one of my favourites of 2011. This great video was done by high5collective from california and their motto is “We make music videos for artists that inspire us. Check in every couple weeks for a new video. Enjoy the art, bitches.” Great i can only support & respect that!
