I’ve become a couch potato over the last days. Uhhh so badly. One reason why I struggle the most with this is because I can’t blame anyone else for it and I know there is no other excuse than my own laziness. It’s up to me to accept these kind of days and not to be angry with myself. Hey you, I tell myself, it’s January, cold, dark and completely fine to cuddle at home for a little while. The Hospital surely know this feeling, since they come from Russia (what a surprise actually, cause their music really sounds like the typical british indie pop to me). Their song “Ariel” just reminded me instantly how it feels to go out riding a bicycle or driving the car with the windows open. Can not wait to feel the first warmish air of spring time again…Meanwhile I listen to this to get up…
Lula: “This whole world’s wild at heart and weird on top.”
A Sound Fractal. Ingredients: Trentemoeller, Sly & Robbie, Chris Isaac, Julie Peel, The Cure
Here you go folks! One of my favourite track ( and quite a few mash-ups) by the Swedisch eletropop artist Robyn.
I’m sure you know her from her great track “Konichiwa Bitches”, her collaboration with the Norwegian electro duo Royksopp or a bunch of other fine tunes.
So, have fun with the following tracks!
My brother keeps telling me about this band Yeasayer for quite a while now, and I´ve really been sleeping on this one so far. But the more I listen to it the more I keep wondering why I wasn´t that satisfied about their music from the start. Allthough it´s never too late so I finally feel like sharing it with you. Furthermore the 12inch extended mixes of The Cure´s Lullaby and Prince´s Uptown[audio:http://www.chromemusic.de/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/yeasayer_2080.mp3]
and another one by the same guys – nice version of the Cure and everyones Darling – Phoenix[audio:http://www.chromemusic.de/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/05-Phoenix-Get-Cured.mp3]
A bit late on this tune here. Somebody already played it last Friday. Had it on my ipod for soem time now, but somehow nobody thought it was worth mentioning it on the site. well i do. Like the way she used the Cures original to make this funky little offering. proper double time hip hop.[audio:http://www.chromemusic.de/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/lady_sovereign-so_human_original_version.mp3]
