South Africa 2010

I know that the following track is pretty mainstream (somehow or other it has to be, since it’s the official theme song for the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010), nevertheless I wanted to share it with you. To my mind it’s simply an indigenous, good song and it perfectly fits the mood of the current World Cup.
Consistent with the host of the FIFA World Cup 2010 I got you even more (mostly electronic) tunes with a nice African touch.

K’naan – Wavin Flag (Vanguards Remix)

Addendum: As you may realize, the Celebration Remix contains no political statements compared to the Vanguards Remix. The two versions differ almost entirely in lyrics. Obviously, the first version is solely meant to celebrate the World Cup (as you might guess from the title).

A few fine dupstep tunes

The week was definitively too hot to look for good new music (around 30+ degrees most of the time – that’s pretty much for Munich), therefore I just made you a short summary of my favourite dubstep tunes right now (old & new ones).

For all our foreign visitors:  On the picture above, you can see the legendary “Eisbachwelle” @ “Englischer Garten”. If you are planning a trip to Munich, this spot is worth a visit!

Enough blabla, here are the tracks:

Robyn – Fembot

Here you go folks! One of my favourite track ( and quite a few mash-ups) by the Swedisch eletropop artist Robyn.
I’m sure you know her from her great track “Konichiwa Bitches”, her collaboration with the Norwegian electro duo Royksopp or a bunch of other fine tunes.
So, have fun with the following tracks!

General Elektriks

general elektriks

RV Salters established the General Elektriks project just before he moved vom France to San Francisco. Since classifying the sound as a certain genre is really though here, at least I can say that you may hear influence both by France and by California in his sound. Join his group on facebook folks!

Mystery Jets

The Mystery Jets always make me smile with their lovely pop sound. Their new album Seratonin is going to be released on 5th July and above you see the new video for the single “Dreaming Of Another World”. Unfortunately I haven’t found the original song on the web yet, but here’s the Wooden Shjips remix, which is actually hardly different from the original. The only difference between the two versions is the solo at the end of the remixed one. I don’t want to discredit anybody here, but in my view a remix should be more than just a guitar solo put on original track. Whatever, much more important is that because the remix sounds the same, the track is equally good!

I’ve always loved this Proxy remix just because it’s not that typical Proxy chainsaw-stuff, which really started to annoy me with time.
