On such a cold & snowy day only one thing can warm me, and that’s being in touch with myself and not being lost in the world, in thoughts, ideas and other not-real imaginative things.
Here is the situation – accept it or deal with it! But be present and pay attention.
And that’s pretty much how i always understood this song: I wanna be where you are. You meaning me. Not my idea of who i am and always looking for something. There is nothing to look for everything is right here, right now!
The Nextmen’s “A mean speaker”, of their fantastic “Join the dots” album, came out some time ago, and i just stumbled upon this free high quality download while checking the Nextmen’s Soundcloud hangout, i love this tune and it’s an absolutely high-recommended YUM YUM favourite and overall feelgood tune. Make sure to follow them guys and drop a comment. Ps this one’s also for you babe ;)
Canadian folk pop singer Jenn Grant was utterly new to me just a few days ago, until a friend of mine (had to be a girl) sent me this video. Think it really has some fun-filled uplifting swing and sound to it. Good music to forget these cold & short days. “Honeymoon Punch” is her 2nd album and i can only recommend it if you are into that type of sound. Here is the introductory track of her album, go check the lady and her superb 2nd album out. What a lovely voice and this has to be my favourite track of the entire album:
Klevers playing in Munich, gonna be mayhem anyways, at the Official Air & Style afterparty, and as if this wasnt enough he is teaming up with one of our main YUM YUM folks, Schowi, to deliver a one of a kind night on Sat Feb 12th. If you havent heard of Klever yet, on this side of the atlantic, well be in for a treat, the mans almost like one of our people, and as his & our buddy Hannibal so eloquently put it: “he blows my mind every time!”. Our man Creathief is the one who will bring him through, the other date in germany will be in Frankfurt on Feb 11th @Cocoon.
Klevers history is story best read by yourself, but it goes deep and he is another member of the infamous Allies crew, that also included A-trak & dj Craze, so you know where this will be going musically.
I have included a video in this post, a remix by Klever and 2 older mixtapes that i found online. Have fun with it and make sure to chekc the man out, muiscal boundaries will be nonexistent and the whole Snowboard Worldchampionship Air&Style will provide more than enough party hungry folks in for some serious sound-bashing. Be in for a treat
PS. this whole thing a part of a 3 stop tour de force party in munich, starting on SUN Ispo Party Feb 6th @ Location unknown, then THUR Feb 10th @Crux the official Air & Style warmup party, and finishing off with a grand finale on SAT feb 12th @ Ex Schrannenhalle with Klever & Schowi.
I. the first version was sent to me by one of our readers, and its quite a great one submitted by Alexis Maizel and heres what he wrote: “I enclose you a recent cover by a French folk band called ‘La maison Tellier’ of the classical ‘Killing in the Name Of” by RATM. I have no affiliation whatsoever with this band (but for the citizenship), but really dig the track. It would blend quite nicely in one of your next “Sweet Serenade” mixtape. Listen and enjoy.”
!UPDATE IN A FEW WEEKS (TOPS) YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SUBMIT YOUR OWN MUSIC TO CHROMEMUSIC. VIDEOS, MUSIC & FULL POSTS. You will be able to write your own articles and will receive points for that. More on that matter – very, very soon!
II. The 2nd version almost made it onto my Sweet Serenade Mixtape Vol.3. Maybe next time, great nonetheless and the smoothest of the three.
III. Version No 3 comes from the Apples, its a pure funk, soul infused monster, that make the crowd scream the prominent hook in the breakdown. Great throwdown tune for any party.
