A new & massive YUM YUM in Munich coming your way! Well me and Max are gonna return to the essence of YUM YUM, for more on that read a full report the coming week in the Character section. It’s gonna be a huge night, and strictly no Italians this weekend – simple o-fest rule. Recheck this month’s YUM YUM top tunes and make sure to show up early.

News: Soon we will have 2 new YUM YUM mixtapes, actually will be passing out the newest one at our next date in Munich (early October) and nationwide, and our Newsletter will soon be much brighter, nicer and full of our music so stay tuned, and start subscribing in 2 weeks (You are gonna love it!). Raphael Saadiq – Big Easy (the European Version)

Yes, you are most likely just like myself not attracted by songs that have a “Euro version” in brackets. Therefore I haven’t ever listened to this tune or version. Euro in Europe indicates some horrible dancefloor rubbish à la “Barbie Girl”. So I figured this was one of these versions, where a doomed record label attempts to make soulful and good music “dancefloor friendly” – with horrible results which are even an insult to crappy techno producers.

But on the contrary, this is just a European verison of the same song, that Rapahel Saadiq released 2 years ago and it’s one of these songs that is the pure & living essence of our YUM YUM sound. This version is just a bit more mellowed out, but beautiful nonetheless. Saadiq has always been a favourite in my book and almost every girl I was with got a Raphael Saadiq album (Instant Vintage) as a present to help her climax her musical taste, lol. This means the difference between having a Soul and a lot of so-called modern Soul music.

Big Easy’s actually a sad, sad story but the way he delivers it – I simply – love this tune – love it back

Another one of the tunes that never made it during my vinyl to laptop transition. Paul Nice’ Remix of the Nas ft Ludacris tune “Virgo”. Kickass remix that was originally only to be found on one of the Rubs “Motherf*** Remix” 12″es. And our buddies Ayres & Eleven from the Rub were kind enough to send this tune through instantly. Thx a lot peoples!

Great animated gif video – he picked all of my and surely some of your favourites. You have probably seen most of the internet memes, which are incorporated in this beautifully bizarre video via reddit, digg, Facebook, tumblr of whatever else your preferred service might be, but seriously I watched this like 5x yesterday night and I really have to say hats off to Evan Roth for this one. I really love this band, bought her 5 track ep, and every tune is timeless. I can’t praise this up and coming band enough. I already did in my first post about them a couple of months back. Haven’t heard from a new album on the horizon but seriously buy the ep and tell them to make a move to Europe. That’s one band I wanna see live or maybe even bring over ourselves.
