A Family’s Whole Life Story Told In One Song – ‘Waiting On June’ By Holly Williams

“…Our tiny house was a sanctuary
Laughter filled those rooms all day long…”

waiting on june

“A lot of people think “Waiting on June” is about June Carter, but it’s about my grandmother June Bacon White, who died in 2009. It’s the precise and true story of my grandfather’s relentless love for her, every character is real, even down to the order of the children and the family cook Bertha. It’s really hard for me to get through it, but I continue to try in honor of them. People need to know that kind of love and commitment is real and possible.” – Holly Williams

Lets Buy A Pain Au Chocolate Get Lost In Paris.”Shh…” By Freschard

Freschard Chromemusic

So here is the thing about summer. We all love the summer time. But in this place, where I’m at, right here the planet summer is a very exclusive thing. Only three months each year where the sun is strong enough to warm you up and even during this time it happens that you are going home late in the evening and wearing flip flops and that it’s just too cold. So it’s nt actually summer, but a few sunny days sprinkled in between the overall reinging grey.

The other thing is, everyone is forced to get the best out of this time. They all seem like they are in a rush to not miss the sun light. You are expected to spend your time always doing something extraordinary and adventurous. But what if you just want to eat an ice cream or have a cup of coffee while reading a book? Or maybe just staying at home the whole day? Even if the summer wants you to be outside with all your friends stealing horses.

Clemence Freschard gives you the perfect music for these hours that you can call yours. Grab your headphones, buy an ice cream, and just walk through your town. Watch the people around you and standing still in this moment is so much more fun with her tender voice and the french accent in your ears.

And maybe, after listening to this, you will call your friends and ask them to steal horses with you for a ride to Paris…Bon Voyage!

From Munich To The World – The VERAS With “House Of Sound”

The Veras

When it comes to Munich I am not patriotic AT ALL. Just because I am born here doesn’t mean that I have this special feeling for this city. I like it here, true, but its more about the people and the good old “comfort zone” where you can take a rest because everything is familiar and you know which role you have to play. But first, home is where your heart is (!) and second, the magic happens outside your comfort zone (!!)…

The Veras

But then, sometimes, it happens that you go out with exactly those people that you are calling home and totally unexpected it ends up being a magical evening. The setting: A summer party at a friends café (of course without summer, thanks for that Munich) and a concert inside. If you would have seen this tiniest of places you would never thought it possible for 6 girls to play live in such a venue… But these girls did. The sound system was horrible, the crowd was too drunk to listen, but all this (and I am always critical) didnt matter at all. Because their band, called “the Veras”, just played music straight from their souls to our hearts. And I am absolutely positive that everyone went home with a good feeling like i did, and i never had the urge to be a music journalist and this is not a review of a band (we never do that on ChromeMusic), we simply call out what moves our hearts and souls… and after all, that’s what matters most. So here’s a warm round of welcome applause (digital) for the Veras.
They are just at the very beginning, so you can’t really find a lot on the internet. But they promised me to work on it and I hope we will hear a lot more. So spreading the music a little bit is the support from my side. Because hey, they are from my home town ;)

Slow Down Your Mind And Let The Soul ‘Do Better’.

“When in doubt, just take the next small step.”

do better chromemusic

This song just came up while i was doing other stuff at home. And first i didn’t pay much attention, but as i realized there is one song playing longer than 3 min, i became curious. Haha, our minds are always in such a rush and the period of time we can focus on something is getting shorter and shorter. It’s so sad, isn’t it? Often I catch myself listening to something and judging it after the first minute. Watching videos mostly bores me so i just skip through…click, click, click…kthanksbye…stupid, but hmmm…

Anyway, this song called ‘Do Better’ by Fatima just made me think about this issue. Because i didn’t really like it the first minute. But listening to the horns, the piano and her beautiful voice made me smile and somewhere at min 3 this song caught me :) Yes, i did it…i gave it a chance after the first minute and it was definitely worth it.

Our good friend Danny posted Fatima and her first released album already a couple of weeks ago at his music blog called bklyn. And i really appreciate the small playlist he made out of this album…so press play and just slow down your mind…it’s Sunday…
