The Shadow Years

The years and the phase of ChromeMusic and YUM YUM was left deserted and abondened by Chrome. No production. No Love. No One Around.
We had to break down the Matrix somewhere else.

ChromeMusic Top Tunes February

Germans are notorious as punctuality but you might have noticed already that we are not the best example for this clichee. So we missed our Top Tunes in January and shared with you our YUM YUM Top Tunes Yearbook of 2014 instead. But now it’s time to continue with our monthly collection of songs we listen to and simply love. Just with one little change we decided to make. Instead of calling it YUM YUM Top Tunes we go with CHROMEMUSIC Top Tunes from now on. It just makes more sense since we are collecting tunes of all genres and not just the typical YUM YUM sound. But don’t worry – we will still feed you with YUM YUM Versions and Mixtapes of our great Djs. And love, happiness and passion will always be included no matter how it’s called. Take it as a pre-spring detox thing. It’s like cleaning your closet – socks to socks, hoddies to hoddies. Everything is still there you will just get a better overview ;)

Freedom Fry “Shaky Ground (Hey Na Na Na)” (Feast. Remix)

feist shaky ground chromemusic

Our friends Feast. just did one more really uplifting remix of Freedom Fry’s song “Shaky Ground”. While the original is already a wonderful feel-good folk song, Feast. added some generic 2015 vibe and this makes the song even more danceable. Make sure you are not on the road and your hands are free while listening the song because it will make you start shaking and dancing immediately…can’t wait to get more of this sound for the summer ahead.

Raury ft. Malik Shakur “Fly”

“Deep in my heart I know everything is going to be alright.”
– Raury

I just heard the song and felt in love immediately. Especially with the lyrics. Raury imagines a better future for his own son someday. “I hope my son dreams to be mountains” and “I hope he never becomes a hashtag” and “I hope he knows it’s OK to love” are just some of the more than truthful phrases he tells us by the end of the song. Really seems like Raury’s heart is at the right place. Check out his Indigo Child Project. I am always thrilled to bits when it comes to interactive websites (though this is a bit confusing and reeeally slow). Don’t miss the 4 min documentary, I really appreciate Raurys thoughts about our world. And my new Indigo Child name is Chark Know. What’s yours?

Bad Paris feat. Mimoza “I HEART YOU”

Bad Paris chromemusic

39 times you gonna hear the words ‘I love you’. Simple as that but isn’t it still one of the most important messages? And as you can see nobody gets tired of it :) Enjoy the message, it’s for you…

P.S. Ok, reality is different and sometimes you DO get totally tired of this message. And that’s ok, too. But then…

Marika Hackman “Ophelia”

Marika Hackman chromemusic

I like that tune, but what can be said about her that hasn’t been said about a large number of singer songwriters before. There is no other POS but that she is happening now and its laid back and chill. I wish someone with her potential would do some uplifting music and make the necessary contrast in the dark/ haunting/ moody singer/songwriter world. Marika could be that person, but right now she has to compete with everyone else. Think Aquilo etc… Good tune, check it out.
