Well, the world made Pharrell Williams already cry. I just cry because I cant hear this song anymore. But if you have seen his interview with Oprah Winfrey, it seems like I am the only one who is so over this track. Sooooo one more time (but for sure the last time)….a really nice remix by NEUS. Oh so happy… :)
The very first Mixtape for ‘Tanz Dich Glücklich’ by our buddy and resident LCAW entitled “Don’t worry be happy” like the same titled Bobby McFerrin song. And a strong message what TDG is about. RSVP right here on Facebook. Ps here’s an extra playlist by LCAW that he did for our blog a few months back. Enjoy this little gem.
“My dreams stand in the distance
slowly fading from my existence”– Tom Misch & Carmody
At first i just wanted to show you one song by this awesome Duo: Tom Misch & Carmody. But in fact i love all their music, so i just made a small playlist with their songs. Because honestly i believe that all and each of their songs deserves to be listened to. There is Tom Misch (whose music is already lovely), and then there is Carmody (who adds just that extra touch), then there are the two of them together…I wasnt really able to find out how they are connected and who’s in charge of what in their musical duties…Well, who knows… for me it doesnt matter.
The last few weeks we had their tune “Last Song” on repeat and we placed it on our latest Sweet Serenade Mixtape as well. So its about due time now to honour these guys accomplished works :) When i listen to them a soothing calmness spreads across my face and my thoughts start to dissolve…. i hope you’ll enjoy it as much as i do and enough with the sweet words… i guess by now you get what I am talking about…
p.s.: like Carmody on facebook and get a download for free :)

Another (pardon my french/ american) “banger” by Cookin Soul. This time they take on Frank n Dank which i remember for their strip club song “Take your clothes off” and bc they were collaborating with my neighbour and long time buddy Sepalot . But that’s actually not the one i was looking for but hey – it’s good as any… There s nothing that hasn’t been said about Dilla that you haven’t read on a t-shirt yet. Give this one a spin even though as rmx’n a dilla tune seems like and impossible task – i think our favourite spaniards did a proper job. What do you think?
“Tanz dich glücklich” means roughly translated ‘dance yourself happy’ or yet rather ‘dance yourself into blissful joy’
These tunes have been everywhere in the past few (has it really been) years. I’d say 1,5 – 2 years but that whole movement has been going on for even longer. Starting with the rise of a new generation who liked those indie tunes and never saw a valid border between accoustic music and electronic productions. That has been said so often before, but these kids respect both. You heard these songs at all kind of bars and almost at any student gathering, any kind of younger (mind you – hipster) meeting. We have been supporting these tunes with our blog from the very start or as soon as we knew about them, which was kind of early – since we did a complete mixtape series (Sweet Serenade) with the songs these kids use in their songs. I am still and always will be grateful for any kind of new movement, cleaning out old sated egos who just fullfill all the stereotypes – of people representing old clischees (looking at you electronic music gone-bys). These kids are filling clubs and the lousiest promoters are getting their hands on them. All they want to do is have a decent venue with little to no suburban hooligans so they can get their dance on. Heck, i even did a mixtape with most of these songs which you can download here – Barfuss Boogie.
So we decided to gather a young friend of mine or two and hook up a party (regular) with the help of our young buddies LCAW & Dinner Date, whom we intend on promoting. Just take a look at the massive improvement of their production skills over the past year alone. Both them guys topped the Hypemachine at least once or twice and some eagerly over ambitious manager weasels are trying to screw them over – left and tight (again, looking at you electronic music gone-bys and no-timers). So since the party is called Tanz dich glücklich, we thought it might be a brilliant masterpiece (irony OMG) to hook it up with our favourite shop in munich called Kauf dich glücklich, which is the perfect place for those kids and for us. Now you know what kind of folks you will run into and rest assured – there won’t be no compromises. So to get you warmed up, before we release LCAWs official TDG Mixtape tomorrow – here’s a 70min playlist to warm up your grey sunday skies.
Here is a playlist with all the artist whose music we helped (among millions of others) bring to light online. Among them are LCAW – Dinnerdate – Zwette – Peer Kussic – Flic Flac – Thomas Jack– – Milky Chance
“…and for now don’t be afraid
If the sun never rises…”– Cocoon (Cathedral)
The last time we posted something about our hometown friend Dinner Date was in Jan this year. He gave us his then-favourite songs and we built a playlist out of it. I must confess that I have been curious what this guy is listening to. We always like his selection of songs and artists he uses for his remixes. Same this time. He mixed the song ‘Cathedral’ by Cocoon, a french pop folk Duo you can easily listen to all the time. Once more Dinner Date made his homework more than well – Hype Machine and some other blogs speak for itself.

And here is one more announcement we would like to make for all the friends in Munich. We are going to start a new party in cooperation with the nice folks from the shop Kauf dich Glücklich and if you like stuff like Dinnerdate, LCAW or Milky Chance…you should save the date and join us at the dancefloor next week. Simon aka Dinner Date is going to show up as well, if only for a beer this time, since LCAW is playing. For the upcoming TDG partys we will keep this man in mind. Enjoy his latest effort :)
