There is not much to be said about Mount Kimbie, except that they are hailing from the Uk and that these 2 guys are beatmakers extraordinaire. And in case you missed their 2010 album “Crook & Lovers” (which won the cover of the year award in my book) make sure to get a copy of their 2011 Ep “Carbonated”. Lovely material

Ms Dynamite – Neva Soft (Video)

This lady has been my favourite rudegirl ever since i first heard her in 2003 (no not on Fifa 03). Loved her entire first album and almost everything ever since, including remixes. What an impressive and tasteful journey she has been on for the last 7 years. September 4th sees the release of her new single and she has truly neva been soft all those years, and has through her releases always been a steady indicator of where the urban Uk sound was at. If you live in the Uk you probably disagree, but from this side of the channel it pretty much looks like it and i salute her new material. Always tasteful, yet rugged even when intentionally trashy but dead on. And from what the Schlachthof Bronx guys told me the last time we met at the airport, where they just came back from Sonar and saw her live: “No one ever told us she was that hot!?!”

Maverick Sabre – Let me go

Outstanding tune by a new Uk star, London born irish raised singer Maverick Sabre, lays down this soulful tune “Let me go” (released July 24th) as an opener to his debut album (nov 2011). If you are into the likes of Cee Lo, Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse, Jamie Lidell, this is your man right now, but in comparison to aforementioned this guy also incorporates the modern Uk Sound of Now and still manages to walk the fine line of keeping it soulful, harmonious and vibrant at all times. Its time that one of the really talented new artists represented the youth of today, instead of all that plastic stuff. Looking fwd to his album in Nov and the release of his single. Cant wait to play it out loud. Enjoy this low quality radio rip of “Let me go” that damn video is not working in germany (again). pls start using a  proxy everyone. this video restriction crap just aint fun no more. Enough ranting . enjoy Mavericks youtube channel & especially this tune, will be a biggie in no time at all!!

Another perfect summer tune is SBTRKTs Wildfire. Out on XXL Recordings, so make sure to get the original although the Drake rework is a neat gem as well. Both Versions added below. Have fun and make sure to have your volume all the way up and your bass cranking.

*Been listening to the original tune for a full 3 hours on a recent dj trip i took and that song got stuck in my head and getting it off repeat on my new Nexus was NOT an option! Love it
