Stop Me – Chocomang (The Smiths vs the Rootical record Crew mashup)

One of the few bearable Mashup tunes these days.. naw i’m kidding there are still brilliant ones out there, as long as they don’t use the same old same old overheard Jacko, Daft Punk etc . This is one of these tunes that sound so elegantly perfect that you do not even recognize it as a mashup. We all remember “the song” it from 4 years back when Mark Ronsons Smith meets Motown cover version of ‘Stop Me’ went to the top of the charts. Here is the original Smiths vocal from the 80ies mixed in a Roots manner. Enjoy

Feist – How come you never go there

It has been 4 years since her last album and a good 2 year since her last memorable guest appearance (Wilco, Ben Gibbard, Grizzly Bear). Feist’s first track of her new album is out now and its a laid back, mellow tune even more than you would expect. I am really glad there is a new Feist album on the horizon and that her music still has that sincere, honest feel to it. New Album “Metals” / Release Date Sept 30th

Black Milk & Jack White collabo

The Black Milk / Jack White collabo is out as a 7″ on Jack Blacks own imprint Third Man and available via itunes. A real nice collaboration of a well liked underground mc (who is an artist and not a product) and the former White stripes head who seems to keep on doing whatever he likes like a true fanboy, and thanks for staying like that. That sets Jack White apart from the rest! Their music keeps going from strength to strength, toghether and seperately. Great 7″. Ps I found these gem via our top tunes group on facebook. Thx to Max Clusive

Beirut – the Rip Tide Album

Beiruts new album “Rip Tide” came out last week and while i never mentioned “East Harlem”on this site, the single that came out 2 months prior to the album release, i kept on playing it as one of the nights ends tunes, and have been deeply & cosmologically in sync with the song and its levitating feel, and thats how i pretty much feel about the entire album. Here is another pick from “Rip Tide”. Enjoy the album and its really worth it, one of my absolute faves right now!

Side note: this summer they have toured a few festivals in Europe but never even touched down anywhere remotely close to germany. i wanna see them live and i want to see the entire crowd go “Whoa” when “East Harlem” is dropped in prime time. Deserves it!
