Another Mr Vegas post: He just released his Double Cd Set called “Sweet Jamaica” and i expected everythings to be pretty much like that very same song, but expectations will only disappoint you, so let me say the good things about his latest release – not that anything bad can be said against Mr Vegas ever – a favourite of mine in my all time book. First off, i am a huge Mr Vegas fan and CD #2 did not disappoint at all while #1 was leaning toward the current state of reggae, and that simply is not my style. CD#2 was filled with sweet jamaican tunes in a traditional roots style, sometimes a bit too much honey, but seriously it includes songs such as this one, which is just a funny interpolation of Desmon Deckers all time hit. I like the attitude, has pirate written all over it and i don’t mean – bootlegging & ripping stuff, i am talking about that pirate state of mind. like that. enjoy the tune and enjoy CD#2.

This is one of these tunes that sound so elegantly perfect that you do not even recognize it as a mashup. We all remember “the song” it from 4 years back when Mark Ronsons Smith meets Motown cover version of ‘Stop Me’ went to the top of the charts. Here is the original Smiths vocal from the 80ies mixed in a Roots manner. Enjoy

You must be gOOd! This amazing tune by the Slackers is taken from their amazing 1997 album “Redlight”. Its a pice of feelgod music and the entire album ranks in my all time top album charts, somewhere in my top 5. Open up inside and enjoy this one with the sun shining on you. Love, love, love…
Ps . this tune will be included on my new mixtape “Pacifics” and more info on that, coming soon.

Ps get all the Slackers material via their website or buy Redlight via itunes. Its definitely worth it. I just hope the Slackers will mve over to bandcamp.com , cause i feel like paying for good music, especially if its this gOOd, but i dont feel like promoting itunes or amazon at all.
With all the things happening in the world, the uprisings everywhere which are spreading throughout the world this year (no matter what the surpressive content), not just the middle east, and all these evil hierarchies (corporations & countries) losing its grip and even worse to them, losing their meaning, by people simply ignoring and neglecting them, a whole generation and ideology of powermongering is coming to an abrupt halt and end. but like every power that ever disappeared, they are not going down without a fight, or dragging as many people with them as they can. thats why this YUM YUM classic fits the mood.
but that system is outdated, does not apply to the globally connected people anymore, its outdumbed by the people who were tried to be kept dumb, a certain percentage of us has outgrown that hierarchical idea. its old news, nonrelevant anymore and simply has to go, its like the end of the dinosaurs. welcome brave new world.
