Amazing YUM YUM last Friday. Great night even though sweat was steadily dropping off my chin, nose onto my plates. But from the sheer look of it i wasn’t the only one sweating inside. At least you people had a chance of switching back and forth between the main area, our open area (finally) and even the second area, where La Boutique and N. Schiegl were running the sound politics. It was a pure primer somewhere between D & B, Grime and almost any infectious new UK Sound. In the Main area the night slowed down at about 5 a.m. in the morning. Amazing you people were holding it down for so long it must have been exhausting but at the same time it was a real dance, with sweating bodies, pumping basslines and plenty of new YUM YUM Sound. We’ve seen you go nuts to those new tunes. Everybody lost about 5 pounds after the dance. It was a pleasure, the entire night although that one turntable started acting up again. Whatever.. Boy, after such a night i am really looking forward for the upcoming YUM YUM on Friday August 4th. The two week wait will be worth it. Trust me, mad new tunes are being hooked up at present. We all had a major blast. Thanks for making it mine.. Ps. this Saturday Rewind!1991 is on, a great party that is self-explantory if you look up the website – full of retro music videos from 1991 that bring back the good old days,or check the truly dedicated Rewind!1991 Poster. See you there + More infos to come. [tags]YUM YUM, Chrome, Jaws, La Boutique, August, Summer, dance, mashup [/tags] |

Great to hear that there is so much new stuff out. Lets start with the new Method Man ft a looped Lauryn Hill from one of her accoustic lps. The track is called “Say” and it’s allready in this months YUM YUM Top Tunes. Talib Kweli is back to “Bizness“, as playing on his site. Always good to have him back on point. Leaning more towards the soul section we start out with a neat new 7″ from Dwele (long time no hear/see) entitled “Dance with me“. A rather slow burner. John Legends “Please baby don’t” from the otherwise worthless Sergio Mnedez compilation. On we go with India Aries “I am not my hair” – strange title but if you listen to the lyrics real close you see how deep this really is. My favourite at present has to be Goapeles “Love me right” produced by Amp Live of Zion I. (Just love her voice) and been pounding this for some time now). My other favourite has to be Bonnie & Clyde (B. & Jay-Z) back together for this energetic joint “Deja Vu“. Expect this to blow up in a week or two. More mellow is Sleepy browns “Me, my baby and my cadillac“. All the lyrical ingredients to make this a hit record. The legendary Roots return with “Don’t feel right“. A somehow negative statement that accompanies an otherwise positive track. Watch out for their album “Game Theory“. They always deliver the goods. Gnarls barkley’s “The last time” is very high in our playlist as is “Smiley faces” (still). Should be enough to get a picture of quality stuff at the moment, so enjoy and drop by to hear them pumping through some real speakers.[tags]vinyl, release, Goapele, Zion I, The Roots, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Game Theory, John Legend, Sleepy Brown, Dwele, Gnarly barkley, method man, Lauryn Hill, Talib Kweli [/tags] |

Before her performance 11 year old Bianca Ryan is hinted that she may have bitten off a little more than she can chew when chosing the song ‘And I’m telling you I’m not going’ by Jennifer Holiday. Watch what she does with the song.            Â
Included in the jury is every germans favorite actor/singer… [tags]singing, wonder, Jennifer Holiday, David Hasselhoff, Brandy, 11[/tags] |

Neat, groovy & wild YUM YUM passed by and the crowd was on fire for the entire night. The tons of new versions were hitting the crowd and surpring or even catching people off guard for the unsuspected. To get an idea of Chrome & Jaws putting down the goods you best of listen to Julys YUM YUM Top Tune selection: 1. Nowhere to run toâ? Motown vs Nelly Furtado (YUM YUM Version) very punky 2. Sayâ? by Method Man & Lauryn Hill 3. Prominxs Girl â? Nelly Furtado & Timbaland vs INXS 4. Love me right â? Goapele 5. Deja Vu â? Beyonce & Jay-Z 6. Donât feel rightâ? The Roots Second area was occupied by the Roots Rockers Sound which is by now and especially when they are playing at YUM YUM a big step away from their traditional reggae music. PS Looking forward for Julys second bash on friday the 21st. |
