YUM YUM review of last Friday

charliebrown1.jpg

Unbelievable Night & Unbelievable Dance.. YUM YUM is growing and blooming. Last Friday was off the hook. Can’ t believe it took me just some fun to re-realize what i was doing all along and find the fun in it. Smiling faces everywhere i looked and a completely mellowed out crowd that was friendly, loving and caring and cherishing every single tune. An unbelieveable energy that somehow becomes one with every open person involved. A smile is all it took me. Totally looking forward to another new YUM YUM night. A dancing crowd that didn’t and simply couldn’t leave for the love of heaven. We were one. Can’t wait for more.

old cd for a new friend

jlegendback1.jpgPs Saturday a neat, new friend i met got herself the John legend Lp, before we went nature-tripping and i just remembered how nice and really mellow that album really is. If you don’t have it get it – you probably know some of the tunes in its YUM YUM versions, but the originals have the mellowness and energy of some serious Soul classics.I.e. “Let’s get lifted” / “Used to love” / “Ordinary people” / “Live it Up” / Enjoy & get it via hiphopvinyl.co
jlegendfront1.jpg Ps I definitely do need to get her that new Method Man & Lauryn Hill joint “Say” that i simply can’t get enough of. Straight addictive.

YUM YUM – this Friday August4th

surfer.jpgsurfgirl1.jpg
After the last and tremendous YUM YUM, it’s finally back on. This Friday, August 4th, we will turn the heat back on with Chrome & Jaws. The second area is being occupied by “Ferris Buellers day off” – a promising new Dj Team that pretty much does the very same thing that got Spinbad and his “Rock the Casbah” mixtape series famous and also the best selling of all times. Mixing old New Wave and 80ies stuff the hip hop way in a very virtuous mix, just the kind of mixing and blending you wouldn’t expect with that kind of music. Blends in perfectly with the YUM YUM Sound. Guaranteed to put a smile on each and every face and a move into each and every limb. Alas, New tunes are coming in by the hour. The sunny weather has been inspiring.
Check this months YUM YUM Top Tune selction below.
Looking forward to a monster of a night. See ya Friday.

Rewind! 1991 Party this Saturday July 29th. / Classic material

Attention earth people, helpermonkeys and folks of universal tongues such as headnodding, busting moves and sippin sizzer… Rewind! will touch down again this Saturday. This became my favourite party concept, not because i’m involved but because i get to hear hip hop music we all grew up on without any of the modern monkey clichees that turn me off – and make me allergic to most of todays stuff. Here’s the Flyer once more. Really dig the entire design, plus 1991 was one of the most inspirational years in hip hop music. Check out the playlist – (i actually dug up all these tunes) and the videos of this year charts bring back some serious memories (just check No. 3, #10, #18, #19, #24) ps. my fave dj youngster max is playing and Torni who used to run things with “led the rhythem hit ya” – his continous & legendary party that took place and had its prime between 92 and 99. Good to see him back after so many people never payed dues and gave back to the guy who’s been featuring them on his weekly parties and made them who they are. Blah, blah, blah … enough jibberish, this is about historic music that set the path for all of todays musicians, artists and inspired an entire generation. Classic material:
Facts – Rewind! 1991 Saturday July 29th, at Zerwirk (yes – re-opening) / 23h

Could be damn hot saturday, so the air-conditionig should mellow up the entire dance.
