Hands down! Another massive dance is upon us since our good friend Joe aka DJ Eleven will be joining me behind the decks at High5Club this Saturday and together we will bring you the latest in YUM YUM sound and music.

You may know him for being a founding member of The Rub and throwing the best party in NYC (as the New York Times called it) OR you may have been in for a treat on one of his previous visits in Duisburg already.

Pretty Lights latest offering is the real deal, as always, i honestly believe that this is what modern present day music should sound like, at least production wise – we can debate about arrangements and use of vocals and other personal preferences. PL has so far never disappointed, everythings dead on point and this tune is no different. Do yourself a favour and sign up for their newsletter, you get all the material that PL puts out for free, they (as the label) or he as PL simply don’t believe in music being sold anymore – yes the times they are a changing and everybody opposing that should get with the program and update their chronometer to at least 2005 and clean their reality goggles. Enjoy this tune and if you haven’t got a hold of their old material or are unfamiliar with them, at least in europe the names not that much household outside the deep rooted scenes, go over to their website and keep yourself busy for a few hours with all of PLs LPs, EPs, Remixes and single Tunes. Great music to match PLs great chnronistic attitude. Pure Zeitgeist

Neuseelands Musikszene entpuppt sich in diesen Tagen als wahre Fundgrabe frischer, subversiver und visionärer Sounds. ELECTRIC WIRE HUSTLE gehört zu einem Gros an Künstlern vom anderen Ende des Globus, die sich innerhalb kürzester Zeit den Respekt der internationalen Musikszene sicherten und durch ihren individuellen Mix aus Soul, Blues, Hip Hop, Synthies und psychedelischen Elementen die Neugier von Produzenten und Radio-Shows weltweit erregten.

Seit 2007 sind Mara TK, Taay Ninh und Myele Manzanza als EWH-Trio aktiv. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit erregte dabei ihr Song “They Don’t Want”, der sie auf Platz 1 der Hype Machine Charts katapultierte und zudem von Gilles Peterson für seine Brownswood Bubblers Compilation ausgewählt wurde.

In diesem Sommer sind EWH nach etlichen Live-Shows in der Heimat wieder zurück in Europa, um an ihrem neuen Album zu arbeiten. MunichOpenMinded und chromemusic holen die Jungs für ein exklusives DJ-Set nach München ins Yip Yab, bei dem sie neben ihren Lieblingssongs auch einige Tracks vom kommenden Album vorstellen werden… Spannung!
