Our peoples, partners, chromemusic authors and YUM YUM co-djs Schowi & Passion are Bass ill Euro, and this is their brandnew EP “Alemanbahton”. I guess the reference is understandable to everyone, and you may recognize most of the tracks from all of our dj sets. DJ Sabos label packed these 4 df friendly tunes into a nifty EP and is set to release it in June. If you are somewhat a music nerd or have spent some 90ies dollars on records you probably will recognize 2 out of 4 samples. If you are a proper nerd i guess your eyes will light up for all 4 samples used :) Check the EP preview below and make sure to see them play live, next time at Fernweh & Malaria in Munich, Friday June 1st.
Our friends and YUM YUM homies Schowi & Passion aka Bass ill Euro remixed the chart-topping Barbra Streisand plus featured german lyrics by Mister Santos of Massive Töne fame. If you are already over the original version, you will enjoy this one for sure, it is a certified banger on the dancefloor already! The video is just too good to be left out, also. Btw: All YUM YUM Stuttgart people will know most of the people involved in it!
By the way Not:fx and I had a really great time spinning last Saturday. That was bananas. Thanks so much for making it mine! See if you can spot Alex in the video who will be playing with me at 100Meister next month. Very much looking forward to that. From what I heard the opening in Vienna was a blast also but more on that soon in a full review.
Happy New YUM YUM!
Two premieres at the same time in 2010: first time YUM YUM in this beautiful new year and first time ever DJ Passion at the Maki Club.
Passion being part of DJ & producer team Bass Ill Euro, together with Schowi (Massive Töne), and expert in matter of bass is travelling the western hemisphere all year long.
This time teaming up with all-time favorite Not FX, representing the remaining YUM YUM sound spectrum!
The concept of this party is easy – the acts, djs, bands you grew up on, play the music they love NOW. Meaning you have a vivid mix of old and new and a transparency of who the artist really is. People don’t just show up to celebrate the old days but to catch up and see what has become of one. Speaking in musical terms – finding how the sound has developed – how much variety and openness one brings to the table and of course celebrating the old to the new. And what better time then shortly before christmas, when everyones home during the daytime and out to kick it with old buddies at night.
Kickoff is with the Massive Töne Disco, who in my opinion were among the few german hiphop bands i could play in my regular sets – meaning american, french and british music. They brought a certain freshness to the table which was lacking from so many bands in germany at that time, but things have changed and only judging by how much these guys have gotten involved into new music, their recent trip throughout the African continent – one guy being one half of electronic producers BASS ILL EURO, one of them doing all the Portuguese/Angolan stuff and so forth. You see these guys separately and combined are where its at. If you are into Hiphop or not doesn’t matter, because they cover it all with style and grace. Ecclectic at its best.
To support them, we have 2 YUM YUM veterans to back them up – local Max Mausser, who has by now built a reputation to play the most soulful tunes, packed in a oldschool party vibe and floor Big Room Don and other half of BASS ILL EURO: dj Passion.
Facts: This Friday, December 18th @ the new P1 (thats right)/ doors open 11pm.
Here’s an old track to send you back down memory lane – this is from 99 and called Chartbreaker. Still to this day i am feeling the sample and the hook – thats what makes up a classic, N’est-ce pas?[audio:http://www.chromemusic.de/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Massive-T%C3%B6ne-Chartbreaker.mp3]
A new Remix by our peoples & YUM YUM colleagues Bass Ill Euro (Schowi & Passion). Nice and much appreciated remix of a tune by Sampo (no the other Sampo) which came out officially some time ago and that i was playing up and down anyhow. Love the ravey breakdown. Punchy drums as always – thats some feel good summer vibe for the 4/4 floors.
Truly a good beat – dwnld and play out loud in your sets. This is gonna be an official release[audio:http://www.chromemusic.de/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Good-Beat-Bass-ill-Euro-Remix.mp3]
Damn you must be mad at me for not checking my mails and the many mp3s and msuic you have sent me. At the last count it was way over 150 unanswered new tracks i got sent, but i was reaaaal busy and will get to it as soon as i get a break. Anyway, YUM YUM affiliate and buddy passion sent me this remix/edit he did of Stromaes ginormous hit “Alors on Danse” ft Mr Santos, whom some of you will remember as Ju from the Massive Töne days. Nice mix of German/ French Vocals on one of the tunes of this fall and really good to see that Ju hasn’t lost his Mojo. Great YUM YUM version, thx @Passion. Have fun folks.[audio:http://www.chromemusic.de/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/Alors-On-Danse-Remix.mp3]
