new YUM YUM this Friday @ Registratur

Bild 21.pngWe are looking for a new night this Friday, when we (Schu, Chrome & Not-Fx and hopefully a topfriend area with Schiegl & Raph) come down for a new YUM YUM night at Registratur.

I have to remind you this Friday is of course the 18th, not the 17th, because our flyers say it all wrong, but mistakes happen and i am telling you now. Last night with Chrome & Schowi was a nice appetizer and we will be back to top things off this Friday. Back to the niceness of YUM YUM – check Julys Top Tune selection (although the weather feels more like fall) and expect the full American Rock Boy version by tomorrow online as well as a new YUM YUM comics being online next week.
Also here is YUM YUM Vol 8 as a free download. I have been asked about this quite often and here it is, since almost all of the real CD copies are gone by now. Here you go. Check it out, listen to it or simply download it here.

See you for the latest YUM YUM dance this friday.

new blog : Topfriendmusic.com

IMG_0103.jpg

Me and a couple of friends (Ben Mono, Schu, Hannibal, Schowi, Passion, Norbert Schiegl, Raph,  and some more) are just starting out a new blog called topfriendmusic.com. It is supposed to be an all national blog – run in Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt at the same time – same as the according parties. It is already online – just lacking all the necceassry design and stuff. But we are getting there step by step. Thats why i have been to Berlin last week (among other things) and we did this little nerdy computer club meeting during the daytime to lift everybody on the same tech level – and this is what we did at night – the two on the left are drunk out of their minds.

Friday night we had the Topfriend party kick off with Santogold performing live. It was a smooth opener with 1000+ guests and we are gonna have the same thing in munich soon enough. A full on report on the first party with pictures and everything else will be online on topfriendmusic.com

The Century of the Self – a Must See documentary

Bild 52.png

“The Century of the Self” Amazing 4 part documentary for the BBC by Adam Curtis,

who is also responsible for “The Power of Nightmares“, which i linked to years ago.

Part 1 is about Sigmund Freuds american nephew, Edward Bernais (He was the first to create the word – Public Relations.), who took Freuds ideas and showed American companies for the first time how they could make people want things they didn’t need, by linking mass produced goods to their unconscious desires. Out of this would come a new political idea of how to control the masses. It was the start of the all consuming self – which has come to dominate the world today.
“This series is about how those in power have used Freud’s theories to try and control the dangerous crowd in an age of mass democracy.” – Adam Curtis

a website i came up with last month. it helps me keep track with things that i dont get to read in the regular papers. Spiegel is sucking for a long time now and they are just way too late with their information. its mostly about stuff that i am into: scientific material & stuff with tentacles. so – lets nerd it out.

YUM YUM resident Moscow – Pasha – 1st mixtape

Picture_6.png

Last Friday was an amzing night at YUM YUM Moscow. We had a great guest from the UK – Ala Fu – here is a proper full on. But the main attraction is i guess coming from our resident Pasha who (equipped with all our musical material and all the latest treats and remixes) just knows how to throw down a party, and not worry about ‘bending’ the rules of the game too much. suck on it Hip Hop Gestapo. He seems to play in the same vein as Tand Williams, Not:Fx, Schowi Schu and the rest of the YUM YUM clout this site of the curtain. Surely a couple of things have to be understood and they only come by experience and persistence but the motivation is right and here is a first mixtape he made. It is called YUM YUM Moscow – and it surely is a good one, but we have to meet more often with Pasha to fully include him into the crew to make him see even more things. This will broaden his horizon for more material and make him do tapes the way he djs live – which is surely better. While this mix of his might not be surprising to most of us in Europe, it sure is a kick in the head in Moscow, … but – and thats just how i am – it could be better – and the next one will be better – always reaching for the sky…

One things for sure – welcome aboard the YUM YUM train, Pasha – let see how far we can take this.
